Amber stood nervously before Gawain's desk, continuing to mull over the strange dream she had had last night while stealing glances at his expression. She saw his brows slowly furrow, his face becoming both serious and contemplative. She also saw him unconsciously tapping the armrest of his chair with his fingers—a habitual gesture when he was thinking.
Amber knew Gawain was communicating with Firmament Station, and she knew what was on that station. A joint engineering team of the three races, led by Nicholas Egghead, was carrying out repair work there... So had something gone wrong at Firmament Station?
After a few minutes of wild speculation, she suddenly noticed Gawain change posture. He emerged from his focused state and turned his gaze toward her—she knew he had "returned," so she immediately asked curiously, "Hey, over at Firmament Station..."
"Ahem," Gawain coughed twice before she could finish, then looked at her with an odd expression. "You said you dreamed last night that you used Shadow Rift as a slingshot to smash someone's glass, right? Do you remember whose glass you smashed?"
Amber's expression immediately turned strange. She looked Gawain up and down twice before asking uncertainly, "Did you also pick up random things off the road and eat them?"
"I'm being serious!" The embarrassment on Gawain's face flashed by, and he immediately forced a stern expression. "Do you still remember the details of that strange dream? Especially... the part with the slingshot. Every visual detail is important."
Intimidated by Gawain's serious expression, Amber quickly gave up on joking around and began carefully recalling last night's dream, telling him what she had seen in it. "...What I remember most clearly is standing in a pitch-black place, surrounded by the indistinct outlines of enormous things that were rolling and warping. It was a
