The Dragon God spoke quite seriously, without the slightest hint of a joke—and naturally, a god seemed to have no reason to make such a joke with Amber.
Amber's bright expression stiffened in an instant.
"I told you so," Gawain said casually, unable to resist glancing at Amber. "Are you sure this feeling of yours that you're the Shadow Chosen wasn't caused by one of your drunken binges?"
"N-No way!" Amber became agitated at once. Even before the Dragon God, she could not help raising her voice. "I really am a Chosen One! I've been one for decades... I even talked to the goddess! The goddess taught me so many things..."
Gawain did not know whether to laugh or cry. "What exactly did the goddess teach you?"
"How to toss food in a wok... and how to make thin pancakes..." Amber immediately replied, but after getting out half a sentence, her voice abruptly dropped lower and lower. "Of course, it wasn't just that. Of course... there were some very impressive things too..."

Even Gawain, who possessed the greatest reserve of nonsense in this age, found Amber's words increasingly outrageous.
