Gawain and the others were escorted out of the upper temple hall. High Rank Dragon Priest Heragol personally saw them to the door, after which two priests in equally splendid robes emerged from nowhere and led them toward the connecting bridge that led to the elevator.
The first half of the journey was exceptionally quiet. Perhaps the temple's solemn atmosphere still lingered, or perhaps Amber and Veronica felt they remained beneath that god's gaze and did not dare speak carelessly. But halfway through, Amber finally could not hold it in any longer. She glanced at the two dragon priests silently leading the way ahead, like a pair of living tools, then secretly poked Gawain's arm. "Hey, don't you think this is a little strange...?"
Gawain glanced at her. "What's strange?"
"Why did they suddenly stop talking about it..." Amber lowered her voice with particular caution. "I feel like the Dragon God still had a lot left unsaid... And it specifically emphasized that we should look around Tarlonnd first..."
"Since it told us to look around, we'll look around. Isn't that a good thing?" Gawain said indifferently. "As for whether it had things it wanted to say but did not... that's its business."
Amber blinked, looked at Gawain, then turned to look back at the magnificent temple beneath the stars. A thoughtful expression appeared on her face, followed swiftly by an expression of giving up on thinking.
She patted her cheeks, seemingly tossing that small doubt to the back of her mind at once, while muttering, "Sigh... It feels like nighttime. I can't stop myself from getting sleepy..."
Gawain slowed his pace slightly. He glanced at Amber and saw that the Half-elf had already pulled herself together, wearing once more that smile that always seemed ready to burst into laughter.
