Background / History

Ruolin first contacts Ding Han through the Star Chart, introducing herself as Zhang Ruolin, a Chengdu native using the ID “Ruolin.” She meets him at Island Coffee Shop in Stream City, trades supplies and currency for his weapons, and invites him to cooperate in hunting Bug Nests outside the city. 12

She quickly becomes one of Ding Han’s earliest and most dependable teammates. Ruolin organizes a five-person expedition to explore a new map beyond Stream City, then joins Ding Han, Xiao Bai, and Ax in repeated Morning Glow Plains operations. 13 27 31 During this period, she also introduces Ding Han to the Player Black Market and helps him establish trading connections. 18 32

After Ding Han forms the Ding Han Squad, Ruolin becomes a central combatant and adviser. She supports the team’s recruitment of Story, joins major wilderness expeditions, and is later regarded as the squad’s vice-captain. 266 318 She remains deeply affected by Story’s death, urging Ding Han not to endanger himself in pursuit of vengeance and helping organize the funeral. 308 310

Outside Star Abyss, Ruolin purchases Lakeside Paradise Music Bar, renames it Flowers Blooming on the Path, and reshapes it into a tourism-oriented music restaurant.
