In short, the Vengeance Army operated according to a scorched-earth doctrine. They had made it clear that they would fight the Void to the bitter end. Any race they deemed to be colluding with the Void had to be exterminated, and any race they believed might become the Void's lackeys had to be purged as well. Having upheld these two extreme principles for countless millennia, they had made enemies everywhere.
The opposing Star Alliance, meanwhile, had secretly forged good relations with numerous races while covertly supplying the Void Lords with material resources. Although they had yet to openly declare their stance, judging by their actions, the Star Alliance could already be considered a puppet regime cultivated by the Void's invading forces.
Of course, one could never be certain about such things. Maybe one day, someone would find the pages of a book so fragrant that they took a big bite out of it, and the New Realm Consortium would turn out to have only pretended to submit to the Void, biding their time until the Void faced trouble so they could launch a counterattack.
Yet the true powerhouses among the Voidlings—the Dimension Walkers, whom only the Node Princes of the two factions could contend with—remained apart from both sides and chose a more rational method of aid.
Whenever a world came under the Void's special attention and everyone thought the wretched place was doomed, the Dimension Walkers would decide that it could still be saved. They would rush over, select suitable members to travel to that world, seek out extraordinarily gifted prodigies, impart secret arts to them, and strive to cultivate anti-Void heroes capable of tearing the Void apart with their bare hands, saving the people from peril and the world from disaster.
But judging by the title Void Calamity
