Curse Warriors were created through special magical runestones that could instantly strengthen an ordinary Dark Elf warrior several times over, turning them into immensely powerful beings.

In that respect, they resembled Asgard's Berserker Legion. However, Curse Warriors were far stronger. First of all, their foundations differed. The Berserker Legion had originally been commoners engaged in lowly trades, while Curse Warriors had once been battle-hardened soldiers.

Moreover, the Berserker Legion's staffs merely stirred up the user's rage. A Curse Warrior's runestone burned away the user's life force, squeezing their potential to the absolute limit. This granted them tremendous strength, defense, and regenerative ability. Even after vital points such as their hearts were attacked, they could continue fighting without being affected.

The price was a drastic reduction in lifespan. After long-lived Dark Elves transformed into Curse Warriors, their remaining lifespan was shorter than that of short-lived species, perhaps only two or three years. Their intelligence and rationality would also suffer damage, and even their ability to speak could be impaired. They would not stop fighting until their mission was complete, becoming true living weapons. To make them stop, one had to cut off their heads.

Having transformed from people into true living weapons, they were given the name Curse Warriors.

Back when the Dark Elves were at their height, Curse Warriors had been their elite troops. They faced their enemies head-on and fought to the death. Usually, it took more than twenty Valagard warriors to restrain one, and even more to kill one.
