Seeing the three carriers finally take to the skies smoothly, Pierce let out a long breath of relief. Although things were rather lively outside, with Captain America and the others continuously causing trouble, he did not take them to heart at all.
Even the damage caused by Evenson's Hellfire had only surprised him slightly; he still considered it within acceptable limits. In short, he had massive warships and enormous cannons, countless turrets and boundless glory. Bigger was better, more was beautiful, and absolute firepower was absolute justice. Could a few little ripples like them possibly overturn that? Besides, did they really think his methods ended there?
"Don't you think this guy is going a little overboard?" Ever since Hellfire had descended, Captain America and Peggy Carter had followed behind it. With this big fellow, capable of dealing tons of damage with a casual punch, clearing the way ahead, their progress had become much smoother. But Captain America soon noticed that this fellow seemed to lack any real sense of direction, and its unnecessary actions were simply too numerous.
For example, they had just watched Hellfire unleash its might. It lifted a fighter jet parked on the deck and smashed it solidly onto two Hydra soldiers. Anyone could tell those two were certainly dead, and if they were unlucky, they might not even have left intact corpses behind.
But their friend Hellfire seemed as though it had not had enough. It ran over and stomped fiercely on the fighter jet several times, then curled its body into a ball and rolled back and forth over it, flattening everything underneath into a sheet. Even that was not enough for it. It then began bouncing on top of it like a basketball.
Who knew what sins those two had committed in their past
