Background / History
Shrek Academy is regarded as the continent's number-one academy and is described as a city-sized institution that recruits once every three years. Its enrollment examinations are considered among the most important events for soul masters across the continent. Statues of historic figures, including Tang San and Huo Yuhao, stand within its grounds. 81
Its reputation rests on its exceptional students, resources, and combat instruction. An outer-courtyard exhibition team of fourteen- and fifteen-year-olds decisively defeated a Tianhai Academy team in their twenties; Wu Zhangkong stressed that the team was not even from Shrek's Inner Court. 68
Long Yuan, Tang Wulin, Gu Yue, Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan passed the academy's final assessments and entered as new students after surviving a Small World trial and receiving tribunal evaluations from three elders. 86
Destruction of Shrek City
Shrek City came under a large-scale bombardment by seventh-rank and higher Soul Guidance Shells. Academy, Tang Sect, and Spirit Pagoda powerhouses intercepted shells over the city, while Yun Ming instructed Long Yuan and the Shrek Seven Monsters to remain behind as the academy's “seeds” for a possible revival. 275
Despite the evacuation of faculty and students, Shrek Academy was leveled, countless buildings were destroyed, and Sea God Island was shattered. Many prominent Shrek powerhouses were believed lost after the battle. 277
First reconstruction
Survivors, including Wu Zhangkong, began preparing Shrek's return, with more than two hundred people working toward revival. Tang Wulin and the returning Shrek Seven Monsters took responsibility for rebuilding the academy at Sea God Lake. 323
Yun Ming, Ya Li, and Long Yeyue later returned alive, bringing leadership to the reconstruction. Tang Sect engineers and equipment supported the project, while barriers and Life Energy crystals were used to mitigate Sea God Lake's radiation. 378
The initial reconstruction included three teaching buildings along Sea God Lakeside. Shrek's land rights and construction were challenged by security troops, but the academy continued building, eventually erecting an interference dome to conceal Sea God Lake from detection. 384 385
Second destruction and renewed rebuilding
A repaired twelfth-grade Godslayer-class Fixed Soul Cannon Shell struck the reconstructed academy, reducing the new buildings to ruins, boiling Sea God Lake, and leaving a bottomless abyss. 498
Tang Wulin nevertheless resumed construction. The Southern Legion, Blood God Legion, and War God Hall publicly backed Shrek's rebuilding, while the Tang Sect developed a Super Energy Gathering Soul Guidance Array Defense System for protection. 501
The academy set a new enrollment schedule despite radiation concerns. Its reconstruction was supported by the Titan Giant Ape Family, which relocated to Shrek City and supplied additional Limit Douluo- and Titled Douluo-level strength. 515 519
Academy Structure
Outer Court and Inner Court
Shrek distinguishes between an Outer Court and an Inner Court. Outstanding Outer Court students may enter the Inner Court after further evaluation; the Inner Court's age threshold is sixteen. 68
Core members of First Grade Class One—including Tang Wulin, Gu Yue, Ye Xinglan, Xu Lizhi, Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan—received special admission to the Inner Court. Yuanen Yehui and Le Zhengyu were likewise admitted after advancing to Third Grade. 238
Sea God Pavilion
The Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek Academy's senior leadership body. Tang Wulin became its Pavilion Master, while Yun Ming is identified as the academy's spiritual leader and former Pavilion Master. 489 495
After reconstruction, senior figures including Yun Ming, Ya Li, and Long Yeyue continued to guide academy affairs. 378
Shrek Seven Monsters
The Shrek Seven Monsters are a prestigious title held permanently once confirmed, unless its holders relinquish it, become Sea God Pavilion members, or die. 238
The documented generation consists of Tang Wulin, Ye Xinglan, Xu Lizhi, Xie Xie, Xu Xiaoyan, Yuanen Yehui, and Le Zhengyu. They earned the title after defending Shrek's honor during their Star Luo Empire mission. 238
Admissions
Shrek follows the principle:
“Shrek Academy only accepts monsters, not ordinary people.” 494
Its admissions process is deliberately restrictive: applicants undergo preliminary selection before a second examination, and the academy maintains that it will accept only exceptional talents even if only one qualifies. 522
This policy created difficulty after reconstruction, particularly when Dragon God Academy offered open enrollment and abundant resources. Most of Shrek's new applicants were descendants of alumni, academy supporters, or Tang Sect members. 527 530 583
