While the players of Yan Country searched everywhere for Ghost Shadow, hoping to get a Divinity Shard from him, Water God and Evergreen ran into a problem on a distant continent.
The Land of Promise had changed beyond recognition.
Simple but sturdy wooden houses had risen from the black, fertile soil. Clustered around the clear lake, they formed the beginnings of a settlement.
Farther out, neat rows of farmland had been carved from the earth. Edible plants transplanted from the scrub were thriving under the nourishment of Life Divine Might.
By the lake, dozens of men worked together to haul enormous logs ashore for more houses.
The women dried the fish they had caught, while children chased one another nearby, their faces lit with smiles they had not worn in a long time.
Everything looked orderly and full of life.
Water God sat cross-legged on a boulder, a blade of grass between his teeth. He surveyed the land flourishing under his "brilliant leadership" and nodded in satisfaction.
"See that, Evergreen? That's how a professional does it."
He bragged to Evergreen, who sat beside him with his eyes closed. "In just half a month, they've gone from a primitive tribe to farming. Give me a little longer and I'll teach them fish farming. Then they can eat fish every day until they're sick of it."
Evergreen did not open his eyes. He merely gave a quiet acknowledgment.
He could feel every life on this land giving off positive energy.
Sweat, effort, hope—those feelings were mingling together, slowly but surely changing the atmosphere of the land.
