Never Coming Back

In 2010, somewhere in a military base in Europe.

By then, Himeko had been a Valkyrie for four years. With her exceptional talent, she had long since passed the novice stage and become a true Valkyrie.

One night, Himeko was startled awake from her sleep. Her captain, Laguna, was standing beside her bed.

"Captain?" Himeko had just woken up and was still somewhat groggy.

"We received orders. We're heading out on a mission. We depart in two hours, so get ready as soon as possible."

The military base dormitories housed eight people per room. Less than ten minutes after the captain entered, all eight Valkyries, including Himeko, had awakened and geared up.

"This mission is a routine rotation. Don't be nervous, just treat it like usual. You have one hour and twenty minutes left to prepare."

Himeko and her teammates began preparing weapons, rations, and other supplies. At that point, they still had no idea where their mission would take them.

Two hours later, a transport ship departed from above the base, bound for Siberia.

More than nine years had passed since the Second Honkai, yet Schicksal was still continuously sending people there to search for something.

The Valkyries who had previously carried out missions in Siberia kept their mouths shut. Both their movements and the objective of their missions were classified.

By dawn, the transport ship had arrived in Siberia.

There was a Schicksal camp here. Whenever Valkyries carried out missions in Siberia, they returned here to replenish their supplies.
