The Power of Terastallization

"Terastallize, Swampert!"

As the words fell, Luo Mu tightened his grip on the Tera Orb in his hand. The originally pitch-black Tera Orb suddenly lit up with a blue glow—the strange energy known as Tera Energy.

Luo Mu forcefully threw the glowing Tera Orb toward Swampert's head, tracing a perfect arc through the air.

Swampert stared straight at the Tera Orb above its head. As though responding to it, the Tera Orb instantly bloomed with a dazzling, gem-like radiance.

The light spilled down from midair, transforming into crystals that gave off an enchanting halo and enveloped Swampert's entire body. The next moment, a crisp shattering sound, like breaking glass, rang out along with the explosion of the crystal shell.

At that moment, amid the flying crystal fragments and starlike glimmers, Swampert's drastically transformed body appeared before Luo Mu, Arven, and Mabosstiff.

Swampert's body was now seemingly covered in gemstones, radiating a brilliant, eye-catching glow.

A crown-like Tera gem had appeared atop its head at some point, and above that gem was an object resembling a cross-section of the Earth.

This object was formed from pure Tera Energy and contained all sorts of elements.

Oceans, plains, mountains, the inner core, outer core, mantle, crust, and more.

It looked bizarre and fantastical.

Luo Mu murmured, "Tera... Ground."

Arven was even more excited than Luo Mu, the one using Terastallization. With an exhilarated expression, he hugged Mabosstiff and kept tapping his feet against the ground in small steps.

"It's Terastallization! So handsome, so cool, so stylish!!"

Arven's face was full of longing. When would he be able to Terastallize Mabosstiff too?

Luo Mu looked puzzled. Was there any need for Arven to be this excited?

Compared to Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Gigantamax, Terastallization's aesthetic really did seem somewhat out of place.

But as one of the four major systems, Terastallization's potential was beyond doubt.

Luo Mu crooked a finger, and Swampert slowly walked over while sensing the strange new energy inside its body, then squatted beside him.

Luo Mu poked the Tera Ground crown and said with a strange expression, "It's actually solid. I wonder how hard it is."

Because of Luo Mu's movements, Swampert also noticed the strange object that had suddenly appeared above its head. Its face filled with disgust.

So that was why it had felt top-heavy while walking just now—it had this extra burden. It did not feel particularly heavy, but it greatly affected its balance and the precision of its movements. Yet in high-level battles, even such a tiny difference could determine victory or defeat.

Luo Mu saw Swampert's distaste for the Tera Crown and smiled. "You'll get used to it. This is something good that will increase your strength."

"Swamp."

Swampert raised its arms to feel the Tera Crown and responded gloomily.

Watching Swampert's movements, several unusual uses for the Tera Crown suddenly surfaced in Luo Mu's mind, but he shook his head and drove those thoughts away.

He had already retired, so why was he still thinking about all sorts of battle tactics?

After tossing aside thoughts he should not be having right now, Luo Mu said to Arven, "Come with your big brother. I'll show you something spectacular!"

"Mm!"

Arven nodded heavily and followed Luo Mu, along with Mabosstiff and Swampert, who was getting used to its Terastallized body.

A short while later, Luo Mu and the others arrived at the Farming Area, which was overgrown with weeds and strewn with broken stones.

Arven blinked, finding the sight before him somewhat unbelievable.

Though he was still young, he often read quite a few books because of his parents.

Naturally, he could tell that Luo Mu's so-called "Farming Area" was actually wasteland where even potatoes might not grow!

Turning wasteland into land suitable for planting would require a tremendous amount of manpower and resources. Perhaps Pokémon power could speed things up?

Arven suddenly turned to look at Swampert in its Terastallized state and realized something.

Luo Mu and Swampert exchanged a knowing look. Without needing any words, Swampert had already taken its stance and begun gathering Ground Type energy.

The moment it began gathering energy, Swampert was startled.

It felt as though the vast Ground Type energy inside its body had been dyed with the same dazzling radiance as when it Terastallized. When it unleashed its move, both Swampert and Luo Mu fell silent in shock.

Swampert stomped heavily on the ground. Like an earth dragon turning over, layer upon layer of sparkling yellow-brown waves surged outward in every direction like a tide.

The Ground Type move, Stomping Tantrum!

Everything in the path of the waves was swept away. Every stone and weed was overturned by the mighty force of Stomping Tantrum and eventually reduced to powder. The weeds were uprooted, and even the hard ground was turned into slightly upturned, loose soil.

Before planning out the area, Luo Mu had specifically asked Serperior to use the pressure of a high-level Pokémon to drive the Pokémon living beneath this wasteland into the nearby mountains and forests.

With such a huge commotion, there would not be any unexpected casualties.

Swampert's eyes widened as it blankly touched the Tera Crown above its head, then looked down at its feet.

It knew it had not used much energy for that Stomping Tantrum. It had only expected to overturn a small patch of ground. Yet under the enhancement of that mysterious Tera Energy, aside from not causing intense tremors like Earthquake, its power was nearly equal to Earthquake!

If Stomping Tantrum was already like this, then how mighty would Earthquake be?

At that moment, Swampert deeply understood why Luo Mu had said those words. This strange Terastallization had simply increased its power out of thin air in the most straightforward and simple way!

If it had possessed this thing back then, perhaps it could have achieved a better result against that Avalugg?

Swampert sank into thought.

Arven held Mabosstiff in his arms. A flush that could have been from shock or excitement appeared on his fair cheeks as he murmured, "So strong... Is this the power of a Champion-Level Trainer's Pokémon?"

Luo Mu recovered from his surprise. Although he had long known that the power brought by Terastallization would not be weak, witnessing it firsthand still startled him with the scale of the enhancement.

Was this what one should expect from a system spoken of in the same breath as Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Gigantamax?

Luo Mu estimated that once Swampert fully mastered the power of Terastallization, it would be able to gain the upper hand in battles against Luxray through its type advantage.

Next, Luo Mu took Swampert through all the wasteland in the Farming Area and Ranch Area, thoroughly leveling it out. The stones that had once been "strewn like corpses" were reduced to powder, while the weeds were uprooted and left waiting to be cleared away.

Once everything was done, Swampert also released its Terastallized state. Relishing the powerful feeling from not long ago, it gazed heatedly at the Tera Orb in Luo Mu's hand.

Sensing Swampert's gaze, Luo Mu looked at the black Tera Orb in his hand, which had become dull and lusterless, and muttered, "A system where it needs recharging after every use is bad civilization!"
