Chapter Summaries

Nemona’s Pawmot overwhelmed Lacey’s Archaludon and Haxorus, giving Uva Academy a decisive victory over Blueberry Academy. Lacey was left shaken by the defeat, but Alder supported him as the tournament moved on.

• Nemona sent Pawmot, strengthened by Ribombee’s Baton Pass, against Lacey’s Archaludon in the rain.

As Luo Mu returned to his farm after seeing Nemona, Zhen Si, and Shizuka off to Hoenn, he found a suspicious man and a leek-wielding Pokémon at the gate.

• Geeta met privately with Kieran and Carmine, approved their eventual transfers to Uva Academy, and offered support to bring their grandparents from Kitakami to Paldea.

• Oranguru and Luxray brought herbs for the feverish boy, and Luo Mu helped Oranguru make medicine that improved his condition.
• Gladion woke up, panicked over his missing Cherish Ball, and received it back from Oranguru along with his other Poké Balls.
• Luo Mu introduced himself to Gladion and learned that Gladion had taken Silvally’s Cherish Ball from the Aether Foundation because he wanted Silvally freed and hoped to become stronger.

At Pokémon School, Guzma challenged Luo Mu to a three-on-three battle after Kukui confronted him for attacking Kiawe and Turtonator. Luo Mu’s Luxray effortlessly defeated Guzma’s Vikavolt, and Guzma sent out Scizor next.

• Kukui confronted Guzma over his attack on Kiawe and Turtonator, but Luo Mu stepped forward to accept Guzma’s challenge.
• Kukui refereed their agreed three-on-three singles battle as Guzma sent out Vikavolt and Luo Mu chose Luxray.
• Luxray dodged Vikavolt’s attacks, then overwhelmed it with Discharge, which also burned away Guzma’s Sticky Web.

Luo Mu defeated Guzma’s Scizor and Golisopod with Dragonite and Swampert, winning their battle at the Pokémon School. As Guzma tried to leave after his defeat, Officer Jenny arrived and arrested him.

• Luo Mu recalled Luxray and sent out Dragonite, whose Extreme Speed overwhelmed Guzma’s Scizor before Heat Wave knocked it out.

Luo Mu left the Pokémon School after Guzma was taken away, then shopped in Hau'oli City while Tapu Koko secretly followed him toward Akala Island. Meanwhile, James discovered Gladion had been missing for several days and told Lusamine, who immediately reacted with alarm.

• Luo Mu left the Pokémon School after Swampert repaired the damaged ground, while Kukui realized Guzma's arrest might offer a way to address his behavior.
• Kukui spotted Tapu Koko following Luo Mu, and Luo Mu later used the Hint System to locate the Island Guardian hiding in a sunset cloud.

Luo Mu traveled with Tapu Koko to Poni Island to ask Tapu Fini for help seeing someone from the past and cleansing old curses and desires. Tapu Fini agreed only if Luo Mu completed a task, then enveloped the Other Shore Ruins in mist that would reveal what he must do.

• Tapu Lele left Luo Mu a Normal Z-Crystal, and Tapu Koko gave him an Electric Z-Crystal after losing their battle.
• Luo Mu asked Tapu Koko to take him to Tapu Fini, and Tapu Koko agreed to bring him there.
• Luo Mu flew with Tapu Koko and Dragonite to the Other Shore Ruins on Poni Island, reassuring Dragonite about seeking help for its mother.
• Tapu Koko summoned Tapu Fini, and Luo Mu asked it to spread the Mist to See the Departed and provide the Purifying Clear Water of All Filth.

Tapu Fini watched Luo Mu treat the newborn Popplio and saw him secure its recovery in a Dive Ball. After Luo Mu awoke from a dream of Popplio’s birth, Tapu Fini appeared, but strange heavy footsteps approaching the Other Shore Ruins left them on guard.

• Tapu Fini failed to make Purifying Water for the critically ill Popplio, then jumped into the polluted sea after hearing Luo Mu and Luxray approach.
