Chapter Summaries

Luo Mu and Tapu Fini escaped the exposed ruins and reached the Altar of the Sunne, where Tapu Fini revealed that the ghost of Sophocles, Poni Island’s former Island King, would explain what had happened. Meanwhile, Bruggen sent a large force of Xurkitree after them and set out to capture Tapu Fini himself.

• Luo Mu, Luxray, and Swampert subdued a hostile Xurkitree, which vanished into an Ultra Wormhole after Swampert froze it.
• Bruggen learned that Xurkitree No. 1146 had been defeated and sent an army of Xurkitree toward Poni Wilds before leaving with Electivire to capture Tapu Fini.
• Luo Mu persuaded Tapu Fini to flee with him through a newly dug tunnel, and they traveled to the Altar of the Sunne on Luxray.
• At the Altar of the Sunne, Tapu Fini reunited with Popplio, whose health had improved under Luo Mu’s care.

Sophocles recounted how Bruggen and Rainbow Happy Development destroyed Poni Island’s environment, defeated Tapu Fini, and empowered an army of Xurkitree. Luo Mu treated Tapu Fini’s injuries and planned to confront Bruggen, while Bruggen ordered 800 Xurkitree to hunt them down.

• Sophocles explained that Bruggen’s exploitation of Poni Island drove away its guardians, polluted its environment, and left Tapu Fini injured and unable to protect the island.
• Luo Mu learned that the other Island Guardians had left Alola and that Tapu Fini could not purify the environment, so he decided Bruggen was the priority target.

As Bruggen sent hundreds of Xurkitree to search and bombard Poni Island, Luo Mu set out with Tapu Fini to enter the facility through its wastewater pipe.

• Luo Mu reassured Tapu Fini that its recovery was essential to victory, and Tapu Fini agreed to lend him its strength.
• Bruggen ordered 800 Xurkitree to search the island and destroy possible hiding places while he stayed at the Power Plant with Electivire and a key item.
• The Hint System revealed Bruggen’s location, nearby defenses, and an infiltration route, prompting Luo Mu to leave immediately.

They reached the Furnace Core, where Luo Mu captured Bruggen and left Tapu Fini to decide what to do with him.

• Luo Mu and Tapu Fini traveled through polluted sewage pipes to enter the Power Plant, where Sophocles revealed that shutting down the Furnace Core would stop its electricity generation.
• Luo Mu and Tapu Fini climbed toward the Power Plant as Swampert fought past the Xurkitree, then Luo Mu Mega Evolved Swampert and led the group into a fierce battle outside.
• Bruggen opened Ultra Wormholes to summon more Xurkitree, but Sophocles summoned Poni Island’s departed Pokémon through Tapu Fini’s mist to help Luo Mu’s team.

• Tapu Fini 2 chose to detonate the Furnace Core, and Luo Mu escaped the blast with it on Dragonite as the explosion destroyed Poni Island and sent the Xurkitree back through Ultra Wormholes.
• Tapu Fini 2 decided to leave its world with Luo Mu and Popplio, and Luo Mu confirmed through the Hint System that it could settle in his world.

• Ogerpon and the Eevee Sisters found an injured Diglett, used Wish to help it, and followed it to the Forest Sage’s cabin, where they met another Oranguru.
• The Forest Sage’s Oranguru arranged for Tapu Lele to heal Diglett with its healing scales in exchange for its drink, then gave Ogerpon and the Eevee Sisters Bluk Berry juice before they set out to help the Digletts.

• Tapu Koko led Luo Mu, Gladion, and Oranguru to the Forest Sage’s treehouse cafe, where the two Oranguru locked eyes and began a rivalry.
• The Oranguru challenged each other to make Bluk Berry juice and appointed Luo Mu, Gladion, and Tapu Koko as judges.

Luo Mu’s tasting contest between the Forest Sage and Oranguru was interrupted when Bewear smashed into the Treehouse, apparently searching for its child. The chapter ended with Luo Mu telling the restrained Bewear that he knew where its Stufful was.

• Luo Mu, Gladion, and Tapu Koko tasted Oranguru’s chilled Bluk Berry and honey juice, and Tapu Koko voted for Oranguru while Gladion chose the Forest Sage, tying the score.
• As Luo Mu prepared to cast the deciding vote, Bewear crashed through the Treehouse roof and overpowered Tapu Koko.
• The Forest Sage deduced that Bewear had detected its child’s scent on one of the visitors, and Luo Mu realized he had encountered Stufful.

Luo Mu reunited Bewear with the news that its child Stufful was at Aether Paradise and sent Gladion with it to find the Pokémon. He then went to Akala Pokémon Chef Academy’s interview at Hau'oli City Resort, where he met Amala and followed her upstairs to meet potential recruits.

• Luo Mu explained that Wicke had rescued Bewear’s child, Stufful, and that it was being cared for at Aether Paradise.
• Bewear agreed to trust Gladion to take it to Aether Paradise, and Gladion reluctantly went with Bewear to look for Stufful.
• Luo Mu left the forest with Oranguru and headed to Akala Pokémon Chef Academy’s interview with several of his Pokémon.
• At Hau'oli City Resort, Luo Mu recognized Amala as Kiawe’s mother, and she offered to introduce the academy’s graduates.
• Amala led Luo Mu and Oranguru to the second floor, where the food aromas filled the interview area.

Luo Mu and Oranguru sampled dishes at the Akala Pokémon Chef Academy recruitment event while considering a chef for their farm. After tasting several candidates’ cooking, Luo Mu noticed a Falinks group whose station was nearly empty, and the Falinks Leader rallied its team to greet him.

• Amala guided Luo Mu and Oranguru to Gardevoir, whose maid-style omelette rice impressed Luo Mu, though he postponed deciding whether to hire it.
• Luo Mu released most of his Pokémon to sample dishes around the banquet hall while he and Amala visited the recommended chefs in turn.
• Luo Mu considered hiring several chefs, including Farfetch'd and Audino, but decided the farm needed no more than two Pokémon Chefs.
• In Area E, Luo Mu noticed a Falinks group cooking together and watched them finish a two-dish-and-one-soup meal at their nearly deserted station.

Luo Mu hired the coordinated Falinks and medicinal-cuisine specialist Audino as chefs for his farm, discovering that Audino was also an exceptionally capable healer. He offered Audino an additional salary to serve as the farm’s medical Pokémon.

• The Falinks cooked a meal for Luo Mu and his Pokémon, impressing them with their speed, coordination, and food.
• Although Amala warned that the six Falinks would require six times the food expenses and wages, Luo Mu decided to hire them, and they went to review the farm information and negotiate their contract.
• Luo Mu found that Gardevoir, Machamp, Farfetch'd, Delphox, Torkoal, Alakazam, and Ludicolo had already been hired, then returned to Audino and arranged to sign it.
• Luo Mu signed the Falinks’ contract while Audino reviewed the farm information and prepared to sign its own contract.

Gladion decided to accompany Lusamine to the Crown Tundra and asked Luo Mu to help him train, so Luo Mu offered to make a plan after assessing Gladion’s Pokémon.

• Luo Mu learned that Falinks and Audino would finish their academy procedures before flying to his farm, then spent the evening sorting souvenirs and examining a psychic-enhancing pearl Delibird had sent.
• Bewear burst into Luo Mu’s villa carrying an unconscious Gladion, tried to adopt Luo Mu with honey, then left with Stufful after noticing the other Pokémon guarding him.

• Gladion showed Luo Mu Umbreon, Lycanroc, and Silvally, then explained Silvally’s origins and how he had rescued it from Faba.
• Luo Mu advised Gladion to keep training until Silvally could break free of its shackles through its own strength.
• Gladion gave Ogerpon a new tablet in exchange for helping train Lycanroc, then arranged sparring for Lycanroc, Umbreon, and Silvally.
• Luo Mu went to Aina’s Kitchen with Luxray and the Eevee Sisters, where Mallow served him and heard his suggestion to plant Gracidea Flowers.

Luo Mu and Aoki met at Aina's Kitchen, where Aoki accepted a bowl of cream stew in return for an old favor. After lunch, Luo Mu asked Aoki to help him find Yellow Nectar in Alola, and Aoki agreed, releasing his Oricorio to help.

• Tapu Fini told Luo Mu that golden-yellow flowers grew on Poni Island, so he changed the group's ferry destination and planned to collect orchid-purple nectar as well.
• Luo Mu reassured Tapu Fini that its Poni Island counterpart would tolerate its presence, and Aoki changed into practical clothes before they headed toward Poni Meadow.
• At the flower garden, Baile Style Oricorio mocked Aoki's fiery Oricorio until it drank orchid-purple nectar and changed into Baile Style, earning an invitation to dance.
