Ch. 81Essential Skills for Trainers, Part Two of the Naranja Academy Curriculum

Luo Mu brought Kukui to Naranja Academy after Geeta approved his visit and asked Luo Mu to gauge whether Kukui might stay in Paldea to study. There, Luo Mu began a physical-training lesson for his students, including Ortega, by explaining that Trainers needed to outrun Wild Pokémon.

  • Kukui asked to visit Naranja Academy and observe Luo Mu's class, and Luo Mu sought Geeta's approval.
  • Geeta approved Kukui's visit and asked Luo Mu to test whether Kukui would consider studying in Paldea.
  • Ortega returned to the cafeteria after losing his money and followers, then headed to Luo Mu's class with his two remaining lackeys.
  • Luo Mu welcomed the students to class and announced that the day's essential Trainer skill was physical fitness.
  • Nemona's excitement faded when Luo Mu said the lesson would be physical training.

Ch. 82Pokémon Are Terrifying Creatures

Luo Mu taught his students that Trainers needed stamina and should flee when they faced overwhelming Wild Pokémon. After demonstrating Swampert’s strength, he left them with a stark lesson: survival came first.

  • Luo Mu led the students and their Pokémon through a strenuous run, and Nemona pushed herself to finish all ten laps before Pippa caught her and helped her recover.
  • Luo Mu guided the class through other stamina-building exercises while Nemona rested.
  • Luo Mu asked what students should do when a powerful Wild Pokémon could not be driven back, and Pippa answered that she and Primeape would fight it together.
  • Pippa and Primeape attacked Swampert with a coordinated Brick Break, but Swampert stopped them effortlessly and showed the class the vast strength gap.
  • Luo Mu recalled Swampert and told the students to use every means to escape from overwhelming Wild Pokémon, because only the living could have a future.

Ch. 83Geeta's Proposal

Geeta visited Naranja Academy and invited Kukui to join the Paldea League, but he declined because he wanted to build up Alola and establish its own Pokémon League. Kukui asked Geeta for a battle before returning home, so she proposed that Luo Mu battle him instead.

  • After class, Kukui praised Luo Mu's lesson, and Geeta arrived to recruit outstanding Trainers for Paldea.
  • Geeta introduced herself to Kukui, and Luo Mu confirmed that she was Paldea's strongest Trainer and highest leader while revealing that he had defeated her and earned the Champion title.
  • Geeta invited Kukui to join the Paldea League, but Kukui declined, explaining that he wanted to improve Alola and establish its own Pokémon League.
  • Geeta wished Kukui success, and he asked her for a battle before returning to Alola.
  • Geeta said she had brought no battle-ready Pokémon and offered to referee a match between Kukui and Luo Mu.

Ch. 84The Macho Man's Fighting Style

Luo Mu battled Kukui in a three-on-three match, where Swampert defeated Lycanroc before Kukui sent out Venusaur. Luo Mu recalled his injured Swampert and brought in Ceruledge, which took damage from Lycanroc’s Stealth Rock as their second round began.

  • Geeta began the battle, and Lycanroc and Swampert set up Stealth Rock and Quicksand Abyss.
  • Swampert endured Lycanroc’s Stone Edge, grabbed it, and hurled it aside before knocking it out with a towering wave.
  • Kukui sent out Venusaur, whose Frenzy Plant and poison powder put the wounded Swampert under heavy pressure.
  • Luo Mu found an opening to recall Swampert and sent out Ceruledge.
  • Lycanroc’s Stealth Rock struck Ceruledge as it entered the field, weakening it for the second round.

Ch. 85Kukui: There's Something Dirty Here

Luo Mu defeated Kukui’s Venusaur and sent out Mimikyu to face Incineroar. Mimikyu’s Curse and Pain Split revealed Luo Mu’s underhanded battle strategy, leaving Kukui and Incineroar caught off guard.

  • Ceruledge used Phantom Force to set up a fiery charge that knocked out Kukui’s Venusaur.
  • Luo Mu and Kukui sent out Mimikyu and Incineroar for the final battle.
  • Kukui was surprised to see Mimikyu, which Geeta recognized and greeted.
  • Luo Mu ordered Mimikyu to use Curse, weakening it while placing a ghostly curse on Incineroar.
  • Mimikyu dodged Incineroar’s Flamethrower and used Pain Split to drain Incineroar’s strength, then the curse’s energy surged inside Incineroar.

Ch. 86Going to Alola?

Kukui ended his battle with Luo Mu after learning from Mimikyu’s tactics, then gathered ideas for establishing a Pokémon League in Alola. The next morning, Kukui offered to take Serperior and the Eldegoss to Alola to learn Grassy Terrain.

  • Kukui stopped the battle with Luo Mu, deciding that Incineroar’s Z-Move would not change the outcome.
  • Geeta showed Kukui and Luo Mu Naranja Academy’s library, and Kukui praised its collection and design.
  • Kukui thanked Geeta for her hospitality and said Paldea’s League experience had helped him shape plans for Alola.
  • Geeta reminded Luo Mu that their previous agreement still stood and mentioned a future private commission.
  • The next morning, Kukui asked why Serperior did not use Grassy Terrain, and Luo Mu explained that he had been unable to find someone in Paldea who could teach it.
  • Kukui offered to take Serperior and the Eldegoss to Alola to learn Grassy Terrain.

Ch. 87Shura Field

Luo Mu agreed to travel with Kukui to the Alola Region and seek Tapu Mumu’s help teaching Serperior and Eldegoss Grassy Terrain. After Geeta quickly approved his leave and arranged a substitute, Luo Mu prepared to leave the farm for a week.

  • Kukui told Luo Mu he planned to return to Alola the next day and invited him to meet Tapu Mumu, who could teach Grassy Terrain.
  • Luo Mu recognized Tapu Mumu as the best teacher for Serperior and Eldegoss and agreed to try to win its instruction within a week.
  • Kukui offered to prepare a week’s worth of Pokémon Food and Energy Cubes while Luo Mu called Principal Mu Fei to request leave.
  • Geeta told Luo Mu his leave was approved and that Aoki would cover his next two classes, then offered to book his flight.
  • Luo Mu accepted Geeta’s help, ended the call when she suggested recruiting promising talent, and told Kukui the academy arrangements were settled.

Ch. 89Night Sky

Luo Mu prepared the farm for a week-long trip to Alola, choosing Pokémon to bring and entrusting the rest to their companions. On the overnight flight, he stayed awake beside the sleeping Kukui, unable to settle under the clear night sky.

  • Luo Mu chose Dragonite, three Eldegoss, Serperior, Mimikyu, Mudbray, and Growlithe to accompany him to Alola.
  • Luo Mu asked Luxray, Ceruledge, Swampert, and Moltres to protect the farm and comforted the Pokémon who would be staying behind.
  • Kukui returned with two weeks' worth of Pokémon Food and Energy Cubes for the farm.
  • Luo Mu and Kukui rode Dragonite and Braviary to Levincia, while the farm's Pokémon watched them leave and then took up their guard duties.
  • Luo Mu stared out at the night sky aboard the direct flight to Alola as Kukui and the other passengers slept.

Ch. 90Alola!

After seeing a Shiny Rayquaza pass by the plane, Luo Mu resolved to become strong enough to protect his farm and Pokémon. He and Kukui arrived in Alola and headed for Ula'ula Island to seek Tapu Mumu, where Luo Mu urged Kukui to overcome local prejudice through his actions.

  • The system pointed Luo Mu toward the porthole, where he saw a Shiny Rayquaza pass by after hunting Minior shells.
  • Luo Mu recognized that he could not protect the farm from Rayquaza and resolved to grow strong enough to defend the Pokémon he cherished.
  • Kukui and Luo Mu landed in Hau'oli City, and Kukui enthusiastically greeted Alola before leading Luo Mu toward the harbor.
  • Kukui told Luo Mu that they would seek Tapu Mumu before Kukui returned home, and a sailor warned them that Tapu Mumu had destroyed Tapu Village after its residents angered it.
  • Luo Mu stopped Kukui from arguing with the sailor and advised him to overcome people's prejudice by helping build Alola.

Ch. 91Thrifty Megamart

After arriving on Ula'ula Island, Luo Mu sought permission from Island King Murtagh to meet Tapu Bulu. Murtagh assigned him a nighttime investigation at Thrifty Megamart, where Luo Mu suspected he might find something connected to Mimikyu.

  • Kukui brought Luo Mu to the Ula'ula Police Station, where they met Officer Jenny and asked for Island King Murtagh.
  • Murtagh recognized Luo Mu as a Trainer and said he had to pass a test before meeting Tapu Bulu.
  • Luo Mu accepted Murtagh's task to investigate reports of ghosts at Thrifty Megamart instead of battling him.
  • Kukui offered to take Luo Mu straight to the Ruins of Abundance, but Luo Mu chose to investigate the megamart that evening because he suspected it was connected to Mimikyu.

Ch. 92G-G-G-Ghost!

Luo Mu investigated the ghost sightings at the Thrifty Megamart ruins with Mimikyu and Growlithe, driving off the wild Ghost-type Pokémon he found. Inside the warehouse, he discovered another Mimikyu and understood that it wanted him to look under its skirt.

  • Luo Mu entered the Thrifty Megamart ruins with Mimikyu and Growlithe while Kukui waited outside in the cold.
  • Luo Mu followed a lead to the warehouse after Mimikyu sensed Ghost-type energy nearby.
  • Mimikyu used Shadow Sneak to drag several Gastly, Haunter, and Misdreavus from hiding, and the Pokémon fled.
  • Luo Mu opened the warehouse and found a cramped room with a Pikachu costume in the corner.
  • A second Mimikyu crawled toward Luo Mu, who understood that it wanted him to look under its skirt.

Ch. 93Ruins of Abundance

After a strange encounter at Thrifty Megamart, Luo Mu received a Mimikyu Z and a Z-Ring from Murtagh. He and Kukui crossed Haina Desert and reached the rock wall before the Ruins of Abundance.

  • Luo Mu examined the wild Mimikyu beneath its costume, and it struck him with a Mimikyu Z before disappearing through an open door.
  • Luo Mu and Kukui found that the supposed warehouse entrance at Thrifty Megamart had become a solid wall, then left the store.
  • Murtagh heard their account the next morning and gave Luo Mu a Z-Ring as an apology for nearly getting them into trouble.
  • Luo Mu and Kukui traveled through Tapu Village and crossed Haina Desert toward the Ruins of Abundance.
  • Kukui told Luo Mu to climb the rock wall, and Luo Mu released Dragonite to fly up.

Ch. 94Tapu Bulu

Luo Mu met Ula'ula Island’s guardian Tapu Bulu and asked it to teach his Pokémon Grassy Terrain and Rototiller. Tapu Bulu agreed, but required Luo Mu and one of his Pokémon to impress it with a move, leaving Luo Mu to confront an awkward Z-Move pose.

  • Luo Mu and Kukui found Tapu Bulu sleeping on the cliff, and Tapu Bulu woke soon after Luo Mu pointed it out.
  • Luo Mu asked Tapu Bulu to teach his partners Grassy Terrain and Rototiller, and Tapu Bulu agreed after noticing his Z-Ring.
  • Tapu Bulu told Luo Mu he had to perform a move alongside one of his Pokémon that could move it, then lay down to give him time to prepare.
  • Kukui explained that Tapu Bulu’s test usually involved a Z-Move, and that Mimikyu’s Let's Snuggle Forever required an intimate Full Power Pose shaped like a heart.

Ch. 95My Shame Was Nothing Compared to My Pokémon's Feelings!

Luo Mu practiced the Full Power Pose with Dragonite and Mimikyu, then watched Tapu Mumu demonstrate how its Rototiller could enrich soil. After Tapu Mumu challenged Mimikyu, Luo Mu began their battle by ordering Swords Dance.

  • Kukui taught Luo Mu, Dragonite, and Mimikyu the Full Power Pose, and Dragonite sulked when it learned it could not use Mimikyu Z.
  • Tapu Mumu and Mudbray used Rototiller on the soil, with Tapu Mumu transforming ordinary earth into exceptionally fertile Black Soil.
  • Luo Mu admired Tapu Mumu's effect on Alola's soil and noticed how well it got along with Mudbray.
  • Tapu Mumu spread Grassy Terrain across the area, making the surrounding plants grow rapidly and boosting its Grass-type moves.
  • Tapu Mumu charged Mimikyu with Wood Hammer, and Luo Mu ordered Mimikyu to use Swords Dance.

Ch. 96Tapu Bulu: Can't Handle This at All

Luo Mu and Mimikyu challenged Tapu Mumu, using Terastallization and a Z-Move to severely injure the Island Guardian but failing to defeat it. Tapu Mumu recovered quickly, ended the battle, and declared that they had passed its trial.

  • Tapu Mumu struck Mimikyu with Wood Hammer, but Disguise absorbed the blow, allowing Mimikyu to counter with Play Rough.
  • Luo Mu Terastallized Mimikyu as a Fairy type and combined it with the Z-Move Let's Snuggle Forever.
  • Mimikyu chased Tapu Mumu and unleashed a minute-long assault that broke its shell and left it badly wounded.
  • Tapu Mumu rapidly recovered with Grassy Terrain, while Mimikyu became too exhausted to continue the fight.
  • Tapu Mumu dispelled Grassy Terrain and told Luo Mu and Mimikyu that they had passed its trial.

Ch. 97A Way to Heal

After Mimikyu’s battle, Tapu Mumu agreed to teach Mudbray Rototiller and Serperior and the Eldegoss Grassy Terrain. It began training the Grass-type Pokémon by demonstrating how it used Grassy Terrain to grow Oran Berry trees, then shared the ripe berries with everyone.

  • Dragonite picked up Mimikyu after it left its Terastallized state, while Tapu Mumu agreed to train Luo Mu’s Pokémon.
  • Luo Mu spotted Comfey among the returning Eldegoss and considered bringing it to Paldea to help Delibird’s psychological disorder.
  • Tapu Mumu judged the Eldegoss and Serperior, then agreed to teach all four Pokémon Grassy Terrain while Mudbray learned Rototiller.
  • Tapu Mumu demonstrated Grassy Terrain by rapidly growing Oran Berry trees from seeds.
  • Tapu Mumu gave Oran Berries to the Pokémon, Luo Mu, and Kukui, and Luo Mu found that the fruit restored some of his fatigue.

Ch. 98What Have You Learned?!

Luo Mu watched Tapu Mumu train Serperior and the Eldegoss, then recruited Comfey by promising it a chance to Terastallize and play with the Eldegoss. After an unsuccessful expedition to Mount Lanakila, he returned to the Ruins of Abundance and was startled by the move Serperior had learned.

  • Tapu Mumu had Serperior and the Eldegoss absorb Grass-Wood Energy from an Oran Berry tree to prepare them to use Grassy Terrain.
  • Kukui flew back to Melemele Island, and Luo Mu captured Comfey after promising it could Terastallize in Paldea and play with the Eldegoss.
  • After four days of training, Luo Mu hired a mountaineer and searched Mount Lanakila for Alola Vulpix and Ninetales, but a blizzard forced them to turn back.
  • Luo Mu returned to the Ruins of Abundance and trained Growlithe while Serperior and the others continued their training.
  • On the final day, Serperior demonstrated its newly learned move, and Luo Mu exclaimed, "What the hell have you learned?!"

Ch. 99Come Home!

Tapu Bulu showed Luo Mu and Kukui how much their Pokémon had improved through special training, then gave Luo Mu two Z-Crystals as he prepared to leave Alola. Luo Mu thanked Tapu Bulu and departed on Dragonite, eager to return home.

  • Serperior demonstrated Seed Bomb and Grassy Slide but admitted it still could not learn Grassy Terrain, while Tapu Bulu had trained three Eldegoss and Comfey to combine their Grassy Terrain into one large field.
  • Mudbray showed that Tapu Bulu had greatly improved its Rototiller, loosening and enriching the soil with far greater speed and precision.
  • Luo Mu cleaned up his campsite, returned his Pokémon to their Poké Balls, and thanked Tapu Bulu for training his companions.
  • Tapu Bulu gave Luo Mu a Grass-type Z-Crystal and a Ground-type Z-Crystal before settling down for a nap.
  • Luo Mu climbed onto Dragonite and set off for home.

Ch. 100Pokémon Are Waiting for You to Come Home

Luo Mu left Alola after encouraging Kukui to develop a Pokémon League and returned to his farm in Paldea, where his Pokémon had been eagerly waiting. His arrival damaged the farm’s fragile fence, and Luxray lit the way home with Flash.

  • Luo Mu advised Kukui to build public support, recruit strong Trainers, and seek funding for Alola’s Pokémon League before boarding a flight to Paldea.
  • Kukui watched Luo Mu’s plane depart and decided that becoming a Pokémon Professor would help him build connections.
  • Luxray patrolled the farm and waited with the other Pokémon for Luo Mu’s return, while Dragonite and the others prepared a surprise.
  • Luo Mu returned on Dragonite, whose reckless landing broke part of the farm’s fence, and Luxray greeted him as Dragonite slipped away.
  • Luo Mu remembered Luxray’s Flash, and Luxray illuminated the road as they headed home together.

Ch. 101Clumsy Surprise

Ceruledge and the other Pokémon surprised Luo Mu with a homemade strawberry cake, then welcomed their new companion Comfey. The next day, Luo Mu tested Composite Grassy Terrain on fifteen fruit tree saplings, and Comfey and the Eldegoss spread Grassy Terrain across them.

  • Ceruledge, Swampert, and the other Pokémon presented Luo Mu with a cake they had made, and he ate it all and thanked them.
  • The Pokémon cheered and pounced on Luo Mu, after which he introduced Comfey to the others and surveyed the ruined kitchen.
  • The next day, Luo Mu brought Comfey and the Grass-type Pokémon squad to test Composite Grassy Terrain on fifteen fruit tree saplings.
  • Comfey and the Eldegoss formed a triangle and spread Grassy Terrain across all fifteen saplings.
