Background

Poseidon first met Dan Heng when Dan Heng lived overseas on Douluo Continent. His overwhelming enthusiasm initially made him a nuisance, but the two eventually became friends and spent roughly a thousand years together. Poseidon later ascended alone to the Divine Realm to stabilize his failing Divine Soul, and the pair did not meet again for tens of thousands of years by Douluo Continent’s reckoning. 61

When Dan Heng entered the Divine Realm seeking the Goddess of Life, Poseidon agreed to help him evade the God of Destruction. He lured the God of Destruction away despite knowing the risk, then stood against him with the God of Lust when escape became impossible. Dan Heng ultimately intervened and destroyed the incoming attack. 63 64

Poseidon later descended to Douluo Continent under the pretext of recovering his inheritance artifact and finding a successor. While his enormous divine statue publicly announced the Sea God inheritance, his true body remained on the continent to visit Dan Heng and enjoy himself. He concealed his identity around Dan Heng’s acquaintances under the name “Bobo.” 230 231 232

Poseidon is flamboyant, talkative, and extremely attached to Dan Heng. He treats their ancient friendship as a point of pride, becomes openly jealous when Dan Heng has other friends, and repeatedly complains when Dan Heng treats him as a convenient helper rather than a guest. 61 214 231

He is mischievous and prone to escalating situations for amusement, including turning Liu Erlong’s God Test into a source of personal entertainment and launching a public inheritance craze across Heaven Dou City. 231 279 281 He can also be petty and manipulative: he used Qian Renxue’s bloodline awakening to provoke Gu Yuena’s jealousy and gave Dan Heng a riddle whose answer was Dan Heng’s own name. 263 271 279
