Temporary Laboratory
The crude plastic walls shook violently. Beyond the poorly soundproofed door came clamorous shouts, confused voices, and the rumble of machinery.
The Red-Haired Girl held a test tube that was gradually changing color and slowly approached the door trembling along with the walls.
Through the wide gap in the door as it repeatedly opened and closed, she saw the sky outside had gone completely dark, Mecha and fighter jets streaking across the heavens, and armored cars rumbling past the laboratory entrance.
To the right of this Temporary Laboratory seemed to be an armory.
Since the first boom earlier, the sounds of troops moving back and forth outside had never truly stopped.
But there were already far fewer figures outside now, and their numbers were visibly continuing to dwindle.
The soldiers stationed nearby seemed to be almost entirely redeployed.
Clearly, this Mercenary Group had run into some major trouble—trouble severe enough to require gathering the strength of the entire group to deal with it.
At first, the girl thought Ilan City's City Defense Army had arrived, but after watching for a while, she realized something was wrong.
She was currently in the southern part of the camp, and Ilan City was also south of the camp, yet these troops were being sent north.
Moreover, these did not seem to be the first troops rushing over. The roar of machinery had first begun farther away to the north, only later reaching the area around her Temporary Laboratory.
That meant the camp's troop deployment had begun from the north.
And this was clearly a sudden incident. Even if there had been a plan, there had not been much of one. The troops passing outside lacked any strong sense of order.
At least north of the laboratory, the northern side of the
