South Gate · Command Center
"What happened?" Wei Jinna looked up at the City Defense Officer, whose expression had shifted slightly.
"The deputy commander and his people escaped from prison," the City Defense Officer raised his head and looked at Wei Jinna, speaking quickly. "They're crossing that floor laterally right now."
"Why would they break out now?" Wei Jinna frowned slightly.
"They're heading toward the gate control room." He took a deep breath. "I should have realized it sooner. He let me capture him on purpose. The detention area is on the same floor as the gate control room. He wants to seize control of the city gates."
"They're so close together? There's no barrier between them?" Wei Jinna froze slightly at the news, asking in confusion, "Had no one prepared for the soldiers imprisoned in the detention area to rebel?"
"There's a completely sealed wall, but it can't withstand a block of explosives," the City Defense Officer said with a deep breath. "Nothing has happened in the detention area for so many years. Those doors are sturdier than either of us imagined, and they can only be opened from the outside. He must have planted many loyalists on that floor long ago, just waiting for this moment."
He drew a slight breath and said hoarsely, "I'm beginning to suspect that bastard secretly advanced to B-rank. I need to stop him."
"Will it be all right if no one stays here at the Command Center?" Wei Jinna glanced at the flustered Command Center.
She truly worried that without anyone managing the place, it would descend into complete chaos.
"Don't worry. They're only flustered because they haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Their abilities aren't a problem. You should trust my eye for people," the City Defense Officer said casually.
