The space He Ao was in was even narrower than the honeycomb-like spaces outside.
It was only a dozen or so square meters, about the size of a bedroom.
To the left of the entrance stood a small metal desk, with several silver machines placed on top.
Further inside was a small silver-white bed. A figure who appeared to be female sat on it with her back to He Ao, seemingly looking at something.
He Ao looked at the figure and slowly approached.
Crisp footsteps echoed through the narrow space, abrupt and distinct.
Yet the figure sitting on the bed seemed not to hear them at all. She remained seated there, utterly motionless.
After a moment of silence, He Ao stopped approaching the small bed. Instead, he turned and walked toward the desk nearby.
