The burly, rough-looking man sat in a café on the street corner, gripping his coffee cup as he watched the bright lights outside, the pedestrians coming and going, and the dim sky. His brow furrowed slightly.
"Bart," said a thin man with a somewhat shrill voice, seated across the table as he looked at the rugged, hulking man before him. "Are we really going to sell out our little sister? Our current position in the family, the power and influence we have now—all of it was protected for us by her."
"When you were mocking her before, you were the most enthusiastic one, calling her some cheap woman," the rugged man said, glancing at the thin man. "Now that it's time to act, why are you suddenly getting all hesitant and calling her our little sister?"
"Mocking is one thing. It's true she hasn't treated us brothers very well, and the way she acts so high and mighty is hateful a lot of the time," the thin man said slowly. "But in the end, she never shortchanged us. If we turn around and sell her out now, isn't that kind of wrong?"
"What? You don't want to climb higher in the family?" the rugged man said coldly.
"Of course I do. Those people in the family have looked down on us for so long. Every night I think about making it big, about how I'll bully them back and show them things aren't what they used to be," the thin man said without hesitation. But then he paused for a moment before continuing, "But if we have to sell out our little sister to get that position, isn't that a bit wrong?"
