The Skeleton Giant watched He Ao struggle to his feet, then raised a hand. In that instant, all the dense fog twisted and trembled.
That terrifying, shuddering power surged through the raging fog like roaring waves, shooting into the sky and clamping straight around He Ao's throat.
Countless fine hands reached out from the earth, seizing He Ao's ankles, then his calves, then climbing all the way up until his entire body was covered in bones.
Seated upon the throne, the Skeleton Giant stared coldly at He Ao. "No matter what you've done, to a god, it is nothing but a petty trick. Beneath the absolute power of a god, all your schemes are nothing but petty tricks."
He turned his palm slightly, and streaks of twisted shadow rushed out of the thick fog, attaching themselves to those bones, beginning to seep into He Ao's body, into He Ao's soul.
Only now was the power he displayed his true power.
"I've grown tired of this game with you. Since you miss your son so much," the Skeleton Giant said, slowly closing his hand, "then go and keep him company."
Violent agony battered He Ao's consciousness like a tide, yet he merely lifted his head and quietly looked at the Skeleton Giant. He opened his mouth, and a hoarse voice like a broken gong rang out amid the surging fog.
"Do you really think a god is omnipotent?"
He lowered his head, as if asking the Skeleton Giant, and as if talking to himself.
