The sealed freight elevator plunged rapidly, like a passage dropping into an abyss, its hurried mechanical grinding continuing without pause. The elevator had only two floors, 1 and -1, but floor -1 was over fifty meters underground.

With a violent tug and a distinct sensation of increased weight, the elevator came to a stop. The "-1" indicator lit up. Click.

The elevator doors opened, and dim light revealed the scene outside.

Dark Security Uniforms came into Geslo's view as the doors opened.

A bewildered Security Personnel member stood outside the elevator. He looked up at Geslo, suspicion in his eyes. He did not recognize him. "Hello." Geslo smiled and nodded at him, then raised his hand and moved straight toward him. A slender anesthetic needle sprang from his wrist and pierced the Security Personnel member's body before he could speak.

Feeling the Security Personnel member's entire body go limp and collapse against him, Geslo breathed a sigh of relief. "That was close. I almost got exposed."

He looked up and around. Several Security Personnel members stood on either side of the elevator doors, stunned as they stared at him—and the unconscious Security Personnel member sprawled over him.

The surroundings were eerily quiet.

"Well..." Geslo coughed. "Your colleague seems to have fainted."

The surrounding Security Personnel members exchanged glances, then immediately drew their pistols and aimed them at Geslo.

"You really don't care whether your colleague lives or dies, huh?" Geslo promptly raised his hands and shoved the Security Personnel member lying on him to the left. The man on the left who had drawn his gun froze for a moment, then dodged aside. Geslo used the opportunity to leap left as well, ducking behind an iron table. Bang! Bang! Bang!
