He Ao crossed the edge of the desert and looked up at the fighter jet glowing with lights nearby.
Clad in Exoskeleton Armor, he flew forward and descended toward the aircraft's open hatch.
From the mayor's memories, he could vaguely make out that the two white-robed clerics had boarded what appeared to be a modified Floating Fighter Jet after leaving the Wilderness Wanderers Camp.
The Floating Fighter Jet seemed to have modified engines and batteries, giving it greater endurance than an ordinary model. But the modifications were crude, with some of the engines and batteries mounted directly on the outside.
That had made the "mayor" take a second look, leaving an impression in his memory.
There were no further memories of it. After all, the wilderness was full of strange-looking people with all kinds of peculiar habits. A crudely modified Floating Fighter Jet hardly deserved the "mayor's" attention.
But judging from the "mayor's" final memories, those Floating Fighter Jets should have headed east, toward the Forest Corridor.
He Ao landed outside the hatch. The Spider Robot that had been repairing the fuselage was gone, leaving only neatly arranged lengths of cable.
Even the robot had a compulsive streak.
By his reckoning, although darkness fell quickly here and a dim veil had already settled over the sky, less than an hour had passed since he left.
So the robot had finished its task "ahead of schedule."
He Ao looked away and stepped into the cabin.
Mark, who was sitting in the passenger compartment, immediately stood when he saw He Ao enter. "Mr. Bode, you're back? The aircraft is repaired."
"Yes, I know." He Ao nodded slightly. "Let's take off."
"Where to?" Mark raised his eyes to He Ao.
"The Forest Corridor," He Ao said quietly.
"All right!" Mark nodded and returned
