The earlier attacks from the tentacles had already left wounds across He Ao's chest and back. Kewen's last sword strike had directly connected those two wounds.
Blood dripped continuously from his tattered black robe, but He Ao's gaze remained fixed on Kewen before him.
"Tenacious, aren't you?"
Kewen watched the youth before suddenly raising his blade and sweeping it toward He Ao.
He Ao stepped forward as well, swinging the Broken Sword in his hand to catch the golden longsword from the side.
The sword tip that had just been stepped off had been around one-third of the way down the Bone Sword's blade. The Broken Sword in He Ao's hand was now two-thirds of its original length, but because the enhancement array was incomplete, the blade's strength was far inferior to before.
After that simple clash, new cracks began spreading across the Broken Sword's blade.
He Ao changed his sword stance and thrust at Kewen.
Kewen held his sword upright before him, blocking He Ao's Broken Sword. Then he suddenly exerted force and knocked the entire broken blade away.

Kewen followed up by raising his leg and snapping out a kick. His springing kick struck He Ao's wrist, kicking the Broken Sword from his hand. It arced through the air, flew beyond the platform of flesh and blood, and landed amid the drifting snow.
"Little fellow, your body is weakening quickly."
Kewen gripped the golden longsword and watched He Ao. "Your own strength, as well as the strength you can borrow, is weaker than mine. How much longer can you hold on?"
Snowflakes fell onto the golden blade and gradually melted.
