"What happened?"

The piercing scream startled every customer in the pub.

The Hogwarts students who had been drinking Butterbeer and chatting with their friends all rose from their chairs and surged toward the pub entrance. Not far down the street, a crowd had gathered, all of them staring up at the sky.

Someone was floating in the air, letting out agonized screams.

More people crowded over, but they merely watched from the sidelines. No one stepped forward to help.

It was not really their fault. Many of them had panicked and simply had no idea what to do.

Even the residents of Hogsmeade were helpless. In the end, several Aurors assigned to patrol Hogsmeade noticed the commotion and hurried over, attempting to rescue the poor girl floating in midair.
