"They've retreated."

Truman, who had been tracking the Dark Wizards' movements through the map, suddenly shouted a warning. "I mean those damn Dark Wizards have retreated!"

In fact, even without Truman's warning, everyone could see the latest change.

Within their sight, the Dementors that had been prowling nearby, harassing them and causing trouble, suddenly stopped. They all turned toward a certain direction, then surged toward the breach by the school gates like a receding tide, leaving behind only a group of mindless Inferi that the Dark Wizards had abandoned as cannon fodder to delay them.

"Look toward the Forbidden Forest!"

Following the direction the Dementors had turned, Cedric looked over and discovered in astonishment that green sparks had appeared above the Forbidden Forest. That was undoubtedly why the Dark Wizards and Dementors had withdrawn.

"The one who fired those green sparks and ordered the Dark Wizards to retreat was obviously one of the Death Eaters." George frowned slightly as he watched the green flare in the sky. "How did they know the assassination had failed?"

After Professor McGonagall and the others had arrived with reinforcements, everyone had realized that the Death Eaters had gone to such lengths to murder Dumbledore. But Albert had foreseen the entire plan in advance, and it had just failed completely. The dozen or so Death Eaters who had infiltrated the school had all been subdued.

"Where exactly did Albert go? I thought he went to deal with the ones who slipped through the net." Fred turned to Shanna, but she shook her head to show that she did not know.

"You did well."

Professor McGonagall looked approvingly at the Weasley twins and the group around them. If they had not arrived with reinforcements in time, even they would have struggled against those troublesome Dementors.
