Albert lowered his wand and looked down at the dark wizard he had just taken out. After pulling the Marauder's Map from his pocket to make sure no fish had slipped through the net nearby, he headed down the stairs and out of the building toward the shelter a hundred meters away.
Albert rarely went to the shelter.
If possible, he did not want to come here and make trouble for himself, nor did he want to deal with that group of people who only wanted to cling to life. There was no point in it. He had never liked listening to others nag and complain, much less seeing that bunch of utterly ungrateful people.
However, to destroy the last Horcrux, Albert had to make a trip here to meet the two goblins who had once worked for Gringotts and were hiding in the shelter.
After Bellatrix was thrown into an asylum, he was not sure whether Voldemort would move Hufflepuff's Goblet from the Gringotts vault.
Though the odds were low, he needed to be prepared.
Especially now that the main Lestrange line was dead, would the Lestrange family's inheritance pass to other branches of the family?
The Lestrange family did indeed have other branches, though those branches did not bear the Lestrange name.
Albert did not know whether they had inheritance rights, but to stop Hufflepuff's Cup from vanishing right under his nose, he felt he ought to take precautions and prevent any mishaps at the final critical moment.
It was not that Albert did not trust Harry Potter, who possessed the protagonist's halo. Voldemort's death concerned the peace of the British wizarding world, as well as Albert's own interests and his future plans.
If they failed to destroy every Horcrux completely and thus could
