The darkness before dawn shrouded the Mediterranean Sea's bathtub. In a tranquil stretch of sea unknown to anyone, a sudden glow appeared. A seagoing vessel with a lit lantern hanging from its bow slowly rose above the horizon. After lingering in place for a moment, it headed into the deep sea toward the dawn like a ghost ship.

Having finished a night of work and returned to the ship, Albert sat at the dining table, enjoying the potato-and-cheese pancakes Isabelle had made herself while explaining why he had come back so late.

"So you came back this late because you secretly went back to put up another Dark Mark?"

Isabelle turned sideways to look at Albert, who was having a late-night meal at the table, and poured the freshly made hot cocoa into a cup.

"I think that was the scene I saw in my prophecy through the Crystal Ball."

Under normal circumstances, Albert would not have taken the results of a prophecy so seriously, but things were different now.

"Yeah. The Dark Lord probably lost too badly and was too embarrassed to leave a Dark Mark behind." Albert sighed without the slightest guilt.
