Under Madam Pomfrey's cover, several Heads of House led by Professor McGonagall were whispering among themselves, discussing the vicious incident that had just taken place at Hogwarts.

"We can't just leave those children alone. If they really are taken away by the Death Eaters, heaven knows what will happen to them."

Professor Sprout, who had just taken a Calming Draught, was still highly agitated. "The situation is bad enough already. We have to do something before anything happens to those children."

"The simplest solution is to throw Snape out directly."

The other Heads of House all turned to look at Professor Slughorn, clearly not expecting him to make such a suggestion.

"I'm afraid not. We cannot drag Hogwarts into this Wizarding War." Professor McGonagall rejected the proposal outright.

The time for the final battle had not yet come. She could not take that risk.

Professor Flitwick, who had said little all along, suddenly asked, "What did the Order of the Phoenix say? Are they planning to send someone to rescue them?"

"The message has already been sent, but..."

"Perhaps we should urge them to hurry." Professor Sprout reminded them, "Those children are suffering inhuman torture in the dungeons."

"They brought it on themselves."

Ignoring the looks from the other Heads of House, Professor Slughorn felt no sympathy whatsoever for those students who had actively courted death.

"If they had been willing to listen to Longbottom, they would not have ended up like this. Letting them suffer a little now will help them remember the lesson."

"Besides, I suspect this is a trap Snape deliberately prepared for us."
