Ch. 427Myriad Transformations Incinerating Immortal Furnace

Su Yun, Chai Chuxi, and Yingying recovered their physical bodies and learned the Second Immortal Seal from the immortal corpses as they were drawn toward the Immortal Burning Furnace. Their seal struck a mark on the furnace and extinguished its flames, freeing the powerful Spiritual Natures trapped inside.

  • Su Yun realized that fear connected their Spiritual Natures to their physical bodies, and he, Chai Chuxi, and Yingying returned to their bodies using Spirit and Flesh as One.
  • Yingying read the immortal corpses’ lip movements and discovered they were teaching the Second Immortal Seal.
  • Su Yun, Chai Chuxi, and Yingying began visualizing the seal as the Immortal Burning Furnace appeared ahead and Chai Keji charged into its tribulation fire and was reduced to ash.
  • Chai Chuxi spotted a handprint mark on the furnace, and the three attacked it together with the Second Immortal Seal.
  • The seal extinguished the furnace’s flames and broke the black blood chains, allowing the imprisoned Spiritual Natures to escape and enter the immortal corpses.

Ch. 428Third Immortal Seal

Su Yun and Chai Chuxi fled the suspended coffin as the Immortal Burning Furnace revived the immortals trapped within and began killing them. An immortal carried them out, closed the coffin, warned them not to ascend, and leaped off the cliff.

  • Su Yun and Chai Chuxi escaped along the glowing road as immortal spirits returned to their bodies and some immortals began transforming into Calamity Ash Monsters.
  • The Immortal Burning Furnace reignited, drawing in the immortals’ Spiritual Natures and causing their heads to explode as they resisted or attacked it.
  • Su Yun recognized the furnace’s wall runes as the Third Immortal Seal and wondered whether it had enabled the Old Divine King’s escape.
  • Su Yun and Chai Chuxi reached the suspended coffin’s entrance but found no way out beneath its sealed vault.
  • An immortal entered the coffin, carried Su Yun and Chai Chuxi through the vault, and closed the coffin behind them.
  • The immortal warned Su Yun and Chai Chuxi not to ascend, then jumped off the cliff.

Ch. 429The Old Divine King's Past

Su Yun and Chai Chuxi escaped the hanging coffin and discussed the Old Divine King's likely role in sealing a Calamity Ash Immortal. They returned to Tianshiyuan, where Yinglong and Bai Ze arrived and met the escaped Martial Immortal.

  • An immortal survived the hanging coffin's seal, fell to the cliff bottom, and activated the Immortal Vine to retrieve Su Yun and Chai Chuxi.
  • Su Yun speculated that the Old Divine King had learned the Second and Third Immortal Seals, escaped with a Calamity Ash Immortal, then sealed that immortal back inside the coffin.
  • Chai Chuxi said she still intended to overcome her trials and become a true immortal, and the Immortal Vine carried her and Su Yun safely to the ground.
  • Su Yun and Chai Chuxi considered the threats facing Tianshiyuan, Yuanshuo, and the Western Lands, while Chai Chuxi noted that the newly revived Divine Lord also needed time to prepare.
  • Yinglong arrived carrying Bai Ze, then recognized the escaped immortal as the Martial Immortal, who greeted him as an old acquaintance.

Ch. 431Taking It All

Martial Immortal entered the newly revealed Imperial Court after destroying the Old Divine King's seals, while Su Yun and Chai Chuxi avoided the forbidden land and returned to the Great Emperor's palace. There, Su Yun found Pang Hao enraged after Martial Immortal deceived him and brought him inside to talk.

  • Martial Immortal told Yinglong and Baize that he had descended when the Imperial Court split apart, then destroyed the Old Divine King's seals and entered the revealed Imperial Court with them.
  • Doctor Dong and the Eight Heavenly Generals found the Old Divine King sitting up in his coffin, warning that the Imperial Court had appeared and disaster was coming, then chained him back inside.
  • As Tianshiyuan expanded again, Su Yun refused to explore the newly revealed forbidden land, while Chai Chuxi explained that she intended to overcome her love for him as a tribulation on her path to immortality.
  • Su Yun, Chai Chuxi, and Yingying left the Hanging Coffin Forbidden Land and returned to the Great Emperor's palace, where the Gods and Devils warned them about the ominous presence in the hall.
  • Pang Hao emerged from the hall, furious that Martial Immortal had deceived him and threatening a massacre, but Su Yun welcomed him and led him inside to talk.

Ch. 432Gathered Together

Su Yun gathered the Gods and Devils to discuss his troubles with the Martial Immortal, but old grudges nearly turned the meeting into a fight. Yinglong and Baize brought in a badly injured immortal whom they identified as the Martial Immortal, leaving Su Yun and the others stunned.

  • Su Yun told Pang Hao about killing Chai Yundu, taking the Immortal Dao prayer mat, and marrying Chai Chuxi, then asked whether the Martial Immortal had honored his agreement with Pang Hao.
  • Pang Hao learned that an immortal had escaped into the Imperial Court forbidden ground, while Nü Chou and the other Gods and Devils confronted him over their past grievances.
  • The Gods and Devils began drawing weapons and accusing one another until Yinglong and Baize arrived carrying a bloodied immortal whose Immortal Might subdued the hall.
  • The injured immortal awoke, grabbed Pang Hao, warned him to run, and fainted; Doctor Dong then asked Pang Hao to help stabilize the immortal's Spiritual Nature.
  • Yinglong said the immortal was the Martial Immortal and that he had met him five thousand years earlier, prompting Su Yun to wonder why Pang Hao did not recognize him.

Ch. 433Divine Lord Attacks

Su Yun pieced together the mystery of the Martial Immortal and watched Doctor Dong and Pang Hao treat the injured immortal. Divine Lord Chai Yundu learned that his forces had lost control of the Imperial Court and raced to confront its ruler, prompting Su Yun to order Pang Hao to possess the Martial Immortal.

  • Su Yun concluded that the Martial Immortal Pang Hao had met was not the same as the one Yinglong knew, and wondered who now guarded the Northern Crown Great Wall.
  • Yingying drew Su Yun's attention to Chai Chuxi, whose dream of ascending had been shaken by the Martial Immortal's warning not to ascend.
  • Divine Lord Chai Yundu received a report that Doctor Dong, Pang Hao, and others occupied the Imperial Court, then set out for Tianshiyuan.
  • Doctor Dong explained that the Martial Immortal's wounded Spiritual Nature was being treated by Pang Hao and showed Su Yun the terrifying power hidden in the immortal's glabella.
  • Pang Hao offered to possess the Martial Immortal and break through the Immortal Sword's blockade, and Su Yun urgently ordered him to do so when Chai Yundu arrived.

Ch. 434Divine Lord Flies into a Rage

Divine Lord Chai Yundu came to confront Su Yun, but Su Yun tried to deter him by presenting the Martial Immortal as an imperial-court immortal. Chai Yundu saw through the deception and attacked, only for the Martial Immortal to reveal his power and pin him to a wall.

  • Chai Yundu arrived with Origin Magnetism weapons and declared that he intended to kill Su Yun and the experts around him.
  • Su Yun welcomed Chai Yundu and argued that their two worlds should make peace, while Chai Yundu accused him of exploiting the Chai family and deceiving him.
  • Su Yun led Chai Yundu into the hall and presented the Martial Immortal, causing Chai Yundu to kneel and address him as the immortal he had met before.
  • Pang Hao struggled to control the Martial Immortal’s body, making it act strangely as Chai Yundu questioned him and grew suspicious.
  • Chai Yundu realized he was being deceived and attacked the Martial Immortal, but the Martial Immortal destroyed his weapons and hurled him against the wall.

Ch. 435Journey Together to the Lightning Pool

Martial Immortal awakened in Tianshiyuan, and Su Yun and Chai Chuxi discovered that his spirit realm contained a vast Lightning Pool. After the Tongtian Pavilion experts began investigating the immortal, Su Yun and Chai Chuxi entered the Lightning Pool together to study it.

  • Martial Immortal awakened and explained that he had been replaced when Fire Virtue Divine Monarch died, while Chai Yundu realized the immortal had met his father, the Banished Immortal.
  • Human Demon Pang Hao learned that the Martial Immortal he had served for thousands of years was a fake, and Su Yun told him that his own evil intentions had made him easy to deceive.
  • Chai Yundu reconciled with Su Yun and Chai Chuxi, believing Su Yun was Martial Immortal's son, and the families discussed trade before Chai Yundu departed.
  • Doctor Dong and Human Demon Pang Hao treated Martial Immortal, while Tongtian Pavilion experts arrived and began examining his spirit realm.
  • Chai Chuxi showed Su Yun the Lightning Pool within Martial Immortal's spirit realm, and the two entered it together as golden lightning swallowed them.

Ch. 436This Place Is Not Safe for Long

Su Yun cultivated the Lightning Pool Realm and discovered that he could perceive lifespans, then took Lightning Liquid to help others cultivate. After Martial Immortal recovered, he warned Su Yun about the Imperial Court’s forbidden zone and said they should both flee.

  • Chai Chuxi taught Su Yun how ancient Spirit Scholars used the Lightning Pool and how to comprehend tribulation fortune.
  • Su Yun cultivated the Lightning Pool Realm and saw that he had eight thousand years left, while Chai Chuxi had more than seven thousand.
  • Su Yun saw the short lifespans of his friends and family and felt sorrow that he could not save them from death.
  • Su Yun and Yingying collected Lightning Liquid from Martial Immortal’s pool, followed by Doctor Dong, Pang Hao, General Bao, and Doctor Dong’s fire flood dragons.
  • Martial Immortal recovered and led Su Yun to the edge of the Imperial Court’s forbidden zone, warning him to flee because of the immortal corpse there.

Ch. 437The Height of Shamelessness

Martial Immortal revealed that the immortal corpse was once the Immortal Emperor and warned Su Yun that its revival could bring a catastrophe to Tianshiyuan. Su Yun set out to build the eight Immortal Palace Altars needed to exile the corpse, then flew to Yuanshuo to help end its civil war without breaking his promise not to set foot there.

  • Martial Immortal explained that the corpse was becoming a destructive corpse demon and urged Su Yun to send it away before an Immortal Dao treasure destroyed Tianshiyuan.
  • Martial Immortal taught Su Yun how to use an immortal talisman and showed him the eight Immortal Palace Altars needed to activate it.
  • After Martial Immortal and Pang Hao departed, Su Yun asked Ou Yewu to build the altars and agreed to help unify Yuanshuo so its manufacturing bureaus could forge them.
  • Su Yun summoned Yinglong and the other Gods and Devils and flew toward Yuanshuo to assist Zuo Songyan's forces against the Imperial Court.
  • Su Yun arrived at the Shangdang-Guangping battlefield on an immortal cloud, and Xue Qingfu accused him of breaking his vow not to return to Yuanshuo.
  • Su Yun claimed he had kept his vow because his feet had not touched the ground, enraging Xue Qingfu.

Ch. 438All of You, Fight Beside Me!

Su Yun faced Xue Qingfu’s challenge over the legitimacy of his army and agreed with Qiu Shuijing and Zuo Songyan that the battle had to be fought by people, not Gods and Devils. He rallied the Shuobei forces with a speech about education, equality, and Yuanshuo’s future, then smashed a breach through Guangping’s defenses with the First Immortal Seal as the army charged through.

  • Xue Qingfu mocked Su Yun and argued that his campaign lacked legitimacy and would be condemned by history.
  • Qiu Shuijing and Zuo Songyan urged Su Yun not to rely on Gods and Devils, insisting the conflict should awaken the people and advance New Learning.
  • Su Yun sent the Gods and Devils back to Tianshiyuan and announced that he would fight the battle himself.
  • Su Yun raised the Wenchang Token and rallied the soldiers by promising education, opportunity, and an end to Yuanshuo’s humiliation.
  • Su Yun unleashed the First Immortal Seal, destroying Guangping’s defenses and sending Xue Qingfu crashing into a mountain as Shuobei’s troops charged through the breach.

Ch. 439Like Gods and Devils

Han Jun attacked Su Yun on the immortal clouds, but his dependence on masks and guilt over killing Yingying disrupted his fighting. After battling Su Yun, Chai Chuxi, and several other powerful figures, he fled with his Spiritual Nature and the Masked Monsters, while Su Yun ordered the army to continue toward Eastern Capital.

  • Han Jun charged onto the immortal clouds to kill Su Yun, but a Masked Monster handed him a mask that he put on despite his resolve to fight without one.
  • Su Yun and Chai Chuxi joined forces against Han Jun, while Yingying reminded him that he had chosen to kill her, throwing his attacks into disarray.
  • Jing Zhao, Dao Saint, and Sacred Buddha each struck Han Jun, but his Spiritual Nature survived their attacks and escaped with his shattered body and the Masked Monsters.
  • Zuo Songyan and Qiu Shuijing fought Han Jun's Spiritual Nature, but it eventually fled with the monsters still offering it masks.
  • Su Yun ordered the army to keep advancing, declaring that it could stop only at Eastern Capital.

Ch. 440Allied Delegation

Su Yun and the Northern Frontier leaders faced Eastern Capital’s formidable defenses and debated how to take the city without slaughtering its people. Western Lands envoys then proposed dividing Yuanshuo and occupying Eastern Capital, but Zuo Songyan and Su Yun rejected their demands and warned them to withdraw.

  • The Northern Frontier army swept through Western Capital and reached Eastern Capital, where the great clans had assembled treasures to fortify the nine-tiered city.
  • Su Yun, Zuo Songyan, Qiu Shuijing, and their allies judged that assaulting Eastern Capital would bring heavy casualties and risk destroying the city.
  • Hu Buping reported that Western Lands delegations had arrived to mediate, and Yu Shuangyun led the envoys onto Su Yun’s immortal cloud.
  • Yu Shuangyun and the other envoys proposed dividing Yuanshuo at Eastern Capital and stationing Western Lands armies there in exchange for tribute.
  • Zuo Songyan denounced the proposal, and Su Yun told Yu Shuangyun to inform Imperial Tutor Yu that he intended to break Eastern Capital, then ordered the envoys to leave.

Ch. 441Urgent as a Law

With Western forces threatening Yuanshuo, Su Yun summoned Lou Ban and Master Cen, who revealed that Eastern Capital was a spirit weapon he could activate. The city rose into an enormous divine weapon, leaving Yu Shuangyun’s envoy group staring in shock.

  • Qiu Shuijing warned that Di Ping might trade Yuanshuo’s territory for Western troops, so Su Yun urged a swift attack on Eastern Capital.
  • Su Yun failed to sense the Dust Curtain Sky or Immortal Rope, and Yingying summoned Lou Ban and Master Cen from a distant starry sky post station.
  • Lou Ban and Master Cen arrived furious after Yingying’s spell left Emperor Yu’s Book behind, then Lou Ban explained that Eastern Capital could be refined and activated as a weapon.
  • Lou Ban gathered enough powerful cultivators to activate Eastern Capital, and the entire city and Jade Emperor Mountain rose into the air as a massive divine weapon.

Ch. 442War King

Lou Ban used Dust Curtain Sky and the power of eight masters to turn Eastern Capital into a colossal spirit weapon, overwhelming the forces defending the imperial city. Di Ping died when the Holy Emperor treasures failed to stop the assault, and Wen Guanshan and the officials welcomed the new emperor.

  • Yu Shuangyun and the foreign envoys watched Eastern Capital transform into a labyrinthine spirit weapon that shattered the great clans’ defenses and protected the city’s civilians.
  • Qiu Shuijing ordered the Shuobei Green Forest army into Eastern Capital, while Chai Chuxi used yuanmagnetism powers to aid Shuobei’s troops and hinder Yuanshuo’s defenders.
  • The Great Sage Spirit Weapons in the imperial city resisted Dust Curtain Sky, and the immortal cloud approached Di Ping and the officials at the Golden Palace Hall.
  • Di Ping ordered the Holy Emperor treasures to be offered, but Eastern Capital’s attack scattered and damaged them, killed and injured officials, and left Di Ping dead.
  • Wen Guanshan announced Di Ping’s death, then welcomed the new emperor, and the civil and military officials followed his lead.

Ch. 443Teacher, Your Disciple Is Sending You on Your Way

After Yuanshuo’s victory, Su Yun heard Qiu Shuijing and Zuo Songyan’s plans for governing without an emperor and bid farewell to Lou Ban and Master Cen. He then set out for Tianshiyuan with Chai Chuxi, stopping to confront Wen Guanshan, whom he identified as Teacher Dan Qing and Mister Wild Fox.

  • Yu Daoyuan learned that the Eastern Capital had fallen and turned back to seize a foothold in Donghai Commandery.
  • Zuo Songyan consulted Qiu Shuijing and Su Yun about the fate of surrendered aristocratic clans, and Qiu Shuijing argued that they should be judged by law rather than executed.
  • Su Yun asked how the new Yuanshuo could prevent aristocratic rule and dynastic decline, and Zuo Songyan described plans for an emperorless system modeled partly on Tongtian Pavilion.
  • Lou Ban and Master Cen bid farewell to Su Yun, bound and threatened Yingying for summoning them back, and departed after entrusting Su Yun with their belongings and Master Cen’s warning.
  • Su Yun told Chai Chuxi they would return to Tianshiyuan to send away the emperor’s corpse, then confronted Wen Guanshan as he traveled away from the Eastern Capital.
  • Su Yun revealed that Wen Guanshan was Teacher Dan Qing and Mister Wild Fox and announced that his disciple had come to send him on his way.

Ch. 444Borrowing a Sword

Yingying exposed Dan Qing as a Brush Monster who had mistaken himself for Qin Wuling, and Su Yun borrowed the Immortal Sword to defeat him and the officials attacking the immortal cloud. Dan Qing survived in a broken form and was seized by the mad Han Jun as faceless pursuers closed in.

  • Yingying accused Qin Wuling of being Dan Qing and recounted the crimes he had committed while pursuing power.
  • A dog-headed Giant Demon and more than a hundred former court officials emerged from the relay station and attacked Su Yun’s group.
  • Su Yun activated the four Immortal Palace Altars, borrowed the Immortal Sword, and killed the attackers with a single strike.
  • Qin Wuling’s human form collapsed into a Brush Monster, and Yingying told him his obsession with being Qin Wuling had destroyed him.
  • A half-bodied Dan Qing revived after Su Yun’s group departed, but the mad Han Jun mistook him for Qin Wuling and grabbed him as faceless people pursued them.

Ch. 445What the Mortal World Cannot Hold

After Chai Chuxi left Su Yun and ascended through a Heaven Gate, Su Yun found purpose in welcoming Chi Xiaoyao and establishing an academy in Tianshiyuan. With the Immortal Palace Altars complete, he prepared to lead Tianshiyuan’s forces to the Imperial Court.

  • Qiu Shuijing learned that Su Yun had killed Wen Guanshan, while Su Yun returned to Tianshiyuan with Chai Chuxi and recovered from his injuries.
  • Chai Chuxi left Su Yun, and he sank into low spirits before Dao Sage and Sacred Buddha arrived to purify the giant-faced corpse demon in the Hanging Coffin Forbidden Zone.
  • Chi Xiaoyao returned, and Su Yun helped her choose a site for the school he had promised to fund for demons, monsters, ghosts, and strange beings.
  • Chai Chuxi told Yingying that she could leave without worrying about Su Yun, then built an altar on the North Sea and ascended through a Heaven Gate after sensing another tribulation of becoming immortal.
  • Su Yun established the Tianshiyuan academy with Chi Xiaoyao, recruited teachers and scholars, and began teaching its students.
  • Ou Yewu announced that the Immortal Palace Altars were finished, and Su Yun ordered Tianshiyuan’s Gods, Devils, experts, and Tongtian Pavilion members to gather for a journey to the Imperial Court.

Ch. 446Immortal Realm Stowaway Plan

Su Yun rallied the Gods and Devils to enter the Imperial Court and exile the Immortal Emperor Corpse Demon, promising to help them reach the Immortal Realm with Mandate runes and the Eight-Sided Facing Heaven Palaces. As the group followed the living path into the forbidden zone, Chai Chuxi emerged in Tianfu Grotto-Heaven and learned it was the Lesser Immortal Realm, not the Immortal Realm she sought.

  • Bai Ze warned Su Yun that the unruly demonic gods could cause disaster in the Imperial Court, so Su Yun promised to send them home if they helped exile the emperor corpse.
  • Su Yun demonstrated that Mandate runes could hide their power from the Immortal Sword and proposed using the Eight-Sided Facing Heaven Palaces to summon the Northern Crown Great Wall and escort the Gods and Devils into the Immortal Realm.
  • Su Yun assigned the Gods and Devils to assemble the eight Immortal Palace Altars, then led them into the Imperial Court with Yingying, Yinglong, and Bai Ze guiding the way.
  • After several days on the living path, Su Yun warned the group not to enter the ancient spirit realms they passed, despite the Tongtian Pavilion experts' curiosity.
  • Chai Chuxi stepped out of the immortal talisman in Tianfu Grotto-Heaven, where a Celestial Phenomenon Spirit told her that Tianfu was the Lesser Immortal Realm, not the Immortal Realm.

Ch. 447The Great Emperor's Ominous Final Years

Su Yun and his companions crossed the Imperial Court’s forbidden grounds, where a collapsing spirit world unleashed an immortal treasure and the group encountered mounting dangers. Su Yun entered the palace ruins to set a trap for the Immortal Emperor Corpse, but the corpse crept up behind him and reached for his eyes.

  • A spirit world collapsed near Su Yun and his companions, releasing an eight-tiered Treasure Tower that they struggled to deflect.
  • The young Bai Ze retrieved the Treasure Tower by breaking the remaining restrictions, then coughed up blood after entering Su Yun’s spirit world.
  • The young Bai Ze persuaded the Gods and Devils to continue by promising the treasures of the forbidden grounds, and the group reached the Imperial Court.
  • Su Yun ordered the group to place Immortal Palace Altars around the ruins while he prepared a central altar to lure the Immortal Emperor Corpse.
  • Yingying noticed that she had grown Corpse Hair as Su Yun set up the altar, unaware that the eyeless, red-haired corpse had approached behind them.
  • The Immortal Emperor Corpse reached toward Su Yun’s eyes and murmured, “My eyes...”
