Before the ball began, the last to arrive were always the honored guests. But even at a ball held in a royal palace, the king did not attend every one.

Fairy tales often featured princes and princesses at balls. They were heirs to the kingdom, or not heirs at all, and sometimes they could represent the king himself.

Princes usually wore military uniforms, medals pinned to their chests, while princesses wore magnificent gowns, precious jewels, and the most eye-catching crowns.

At first glance, the maze built by "Dark Light" Hagrid resembled a beautiful garden, filled with marble sculptures. Especially on the third floor, there was a group sculpture: a cluster of nymphs surrounding a crowned girl. The crown had seven gemstone settings, like the beautiful crown the god Dionysus was said to have given Princess Ariadne.

But not long after the wedding, the princess died. The ever-cheerful god of wine was heartbroken and cast the splendid crown into the sky. It rose higher and higher, until it joined the stars and became Corona Borealis.

Even though she had already decided that the third metal was connected to Virgo, Pomona could not help including Alpha Coronae Borealis in her considerations.

This star was also one of the fifteen magical stars. Its name was Gemma, meaning "pearl, gemstone."

The Prince once said: The people love peace, and thus favor gentle rulers; soldiers need war to increase their wealth and honor, and thus favor rulers who are valiant, bold, and ambitious.

Where there was war, there were spoils—jewels, gold, artworks, sculptures, books, and so on. The finest spoils were presented to the king to win his favor, but the soldiers kept a portion for themselves as well. War was therefore an excellent opportunity for soldiers to get rich.
