On the way back to that chessboard exhibition hall, Pomona heard someone shouting behind her. She turned around and saw that it was a Louvre Museum staff member.
She raised her wand, intending to Obliviate him, but nothing happened. Just then, Gong Saiyi raised his wand. A red flash struck the staff member, and he fell at once.
"Looks like we're almost there," Gong Saiyi said, walking over to deal with the staff member.
She leaned out through a window. Outside was the central square courtyard, but the Louvre Pyramid was nowhere in sight.
Perhaps the ghosts in the underworld had felt as Pomona did now. When all around them was unknown darkness and terrifying demons, finding the Pharaoh's army was the same as finding safety and protection. At any rate, Pomona was no longer as frightened as she had been when she had lost her magic.
She carefully examined the boundary, trying to find some clue in it. This exhibition hall had fewer statues than the previous one, consisting mainly of murals and reliefs, along with some burial objects displayed in glass cases.
Severus suddenly grabbed her.
"Listen carefully," Severus said.
Pomona held her breath and listened closely as well, but she heard nothing.

Severus ignored her.
She took a deep breath, walked over to Gong Saiyi, and had him cast the charm on her. Then she returned to the previous exhibition hall. This time, she heard a crisp sound, somewhat like the pleasant clinking of jewels worn by a woman.
"I heard it," Pomona said. "What about you?"

"What are these?" Severus asked when Gong Saiyi came over.
