"Come here, quickly!" Poppy Pomfrey took Pomona's hand and had her sit on a bed near the magical lantern, carefully examining the wound on Pomona's forehead.

"How did you end up like this?" Poppy Pomfrey said, cautiously wiping Pomona's wound.

The medicine mixed with Dittany quickly healed the wound, leaving not even the slightest scar.

"A girl's face is important, especially when you're around werewolves." Poppy Pomfrey glanced at Remus Lupin, asleep in a bed some distance away, and lowered her voice. "Werewolf scratches leave scars."

"I know." Pomona nodded.

"Boys are always careless." Poppy Pomfrey sighed. "You need to be careful yourself."

Pomona found it troubling. Sirius and James never cared when they were injured, so why did she have to be careful?

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, easy!" Ron Weasley clutched his injured leg and said to Poppy Pomfrey.

Poppy Pomfrey was changing his dressing. When she saw Pomona arrive, she immediately smiled.

"You're here, Headmistress." Then Poppy Pomfrey gave the bandage a hard tug, making Ron howl in pain.

Pomona looked at Ron. This lesson in pain should leave a deep enough impression on him.

"I have something to ask you," Pomona said. Then the two walked away from Ron to speak in private.

"You used Dittany and silver powder to treat Sirius Black's wounds?" Pomona asked.

"Those are the only things that work on werewolf scratches, of course," Poppy Pomfrey said softly.

"How is he recovering?"

"He lost a lot of blood. I gave him a Blood-Replenishing Potion."

Footsteps approached, and the two stopped talking.

"Hi, Headmistress." Tonks waved at them.

"Save the catching up for later. I need to speak with Poppy Pomfrey," Fudge said. He stepped past Tonks and approached Poppy Pomfrey. "Is Mr. Weasley available for a visit now?"

"You mean an interrogation?"
