"Where is Dobby?"

Pomona asked the House-elves cleaning the castle. They looked at one another, then all shook their heads.

She suspected they were excluding Dobby. After all, Dobby was so... well, different.

After seeing Hokey's memories, Pomona remembered that she could have Dobby hand over his memories as well, to find out what had made him conclude that Harry Potter would be in danger during his second year.

During the summer break after the first school year, Draco had once come to the school to experience what it felt like to be the "master of the castle." He had run into the corporeal Bloody Baron, who then chased him through the castle with a sword. Dobby had been the one who brought Draco to the school.

"Head of House!"

Pomona jumped, turning to find Tonks.

"What are you doing here, Tonks?" Pomona asked.

"I came to find you." Tonks said happily, "The Minister for Magic is here to inspect the Triwizard Tournament preparations."

Pomona remembered the chaotic Quidditch Pitch and immediately felt that she was probably about to embarrass Albus.

"Come on!" Tonks said, linking arms with Pomona.

"Wait!" Pomona struggled.

"Wait for what?" Tonks asked.

Pomona's mind raced as she tried to think of an excuse.

"Tonks!" Snape called sternly.

Tonks immediately let go of her hand.

Pomona beamed.

Tonks had once delivered potion ingredients to Snape for Pomona as well, in exchange for replacing her in serving the punishment of "permanent confinement."

"What do you want, Professor Snape?" Tonks asked calmly.

The Slytherin Head of House approached Tonks with a magical pressure about him, yet she did not turn and run like the students did.

"How are you getting there this afternoon?" Snape asked, looking at Pomona.
