Normally, flash photography was used indoors or to fill in when the light was poor. Pomona truly could not understand why anyone would use a flash outdoors when the sunlight was so good.

She glanced at the sky. The Sun had already dyed it rose-fingered, and the light was indeed beginning to fade. Although the Smith family had prepared a lavish buffet dinner, Pomona still decided to return to the school.

After parting with Diggory and his son, Pomona Apparated back to Hogsmeade. Before entering the school gates, she stopped by Honeydukes to buy Albus's favorite sweets, then took the path through the Forbidden Forest and walked back.

Though there was not much for her to worry about with her plump figure, the Full Moon was approaching, and she was afraid of encountering a Werewolf on the road. She walked much faster than usual. To her surprise, she ran into Flitwick, who was also heading back to the school, and immediately called out to him.

"Gone to the Three Broomsticks for drinks with your friends again, Filius?" Pomona asked with a chuckle.

But Flitwick did not answer her with a smile and a "yes."

She sensed that something was wrong. Flitwick said heavily, "Tomorrow, I'm attending a friend's deathday ceremony."

"I'm sorry," Pomona said at once.

"You are not the one who should apologize. You actually know who ought to feel sorry about this." Flitwick said calmly, "Adalbert Waffling's grandson wishes to commemorate his grandfather and celebrate the coming of peace."

Adalbert Waffling was the author of Magical Theory, and people had bestowed upon him the title of "Father of Modern Magical Theory." Yet he had died at the age of eighty-two.

That was a long life for a Muggle, but for a wizard, it was not yet the time
