Albus and Grindelwald having a Blood Pact was no secret.
Grindelwald had not bothered to hide it at all. He even wore that "vial" on his chest as a beautiful brooch, and many people had seen it.
Albus, on the other hand, had "hidden" it away after Scamander brought the Blood Pact back, along with so many other secrets.
Pomona took out the letter Albus had given her again. With the Full Moon approaching, even without any other light source, the moonlight alone was enough to reveal the pattern on the envelope: a Phoenix with spread wings, a shield-shaped design on its breast. It was somewhat like the Hogwarts crest, yet also different. There were no emblems of the four houses; instead, it bore an insect and an "a" representing Albus's name, while above the Phoenix's head was a Gothic "d."
The new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor had already been decided: Alastor Moody. As a former member of the Order of the Phoenix, he was quite willing to help Dumbledore "look after" Harry Potter.
Then there was the entomologist Bartholomew Hayden whom she had met at the Ministry of Magic. He could also come to Hogwarts as an exchange scholar and teach for a year, taking over Potions while Severus went to Egypt.
In short, Albus had arranged everything. All that remained was for Pomona to decide whether she would give him the letter, just as many years ago, when he had asked whether she would accept Snape as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
