Pomona saw a skeleton dancing.

At first, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. Then she realized it was the Skeleton Song-and-Dance Troupe, invited by Albus to enliven Halloween.

"Do you know how many human bones lie in the catacombs beneath Paris?"

As she "appreciated" the dance's eerie absurdity, Dumbledore appeared beside her.

He had yet to grow the beard that reached his waist, but he no longer looked like the youth in Bathilda's History of Magic either. He looked about the same age as Severus, perhaps thirty or forty. Most importantly, his taste in clothing was still fairly normal; he was not wearing those brightly colored robes covered in stars.

"I don't know," Pomona answered honestly.

Dumbledore turned to look at her. His eyes were blue as well, though not the pale, gemlike blue of Firenze's.

"I imagine you must have questions," Dumbledore said.

"If I raise my hand, will you answer them?" Pomona asked.

"This isn't a classroom," Dumbledore said with a smile.

"So I suppose that even if I raise my hand, you still won't answer my questions," Pomona said.

"How would you know if you don't try?" Dumbledore asked.

She hesitated for a while.

"What was the real reason you and Grindelwald made a Blood Pact?" Pomona asked. "How did you meet?"

"Don't even ask," another Dumbledore said. Pomona looked over and saw that it was Aberforth, who looked very much like Albus. At that moment, he wore a white beard down to his waist.

"Why can't I ask?" Pomona asked.

Aberforth looked at his "younger brother." Albus was staring into a mirror, where a younger version of Grindelwald had appeared.

"Do you know what it feels like to be madly in love?" Albus asked the Grindelwald in the mirror.

Pomona glanced at Aberforth.
