Georgiana followed the Doxy to an empty corridor.
Just as she was about to step forward, she drew back.
"Did he go to Aachen because of the Seven Years' War?" said an old nobleman in a silk coat and wig.
Ledrell shook his head.
"Then because of America?"
"I've already told you enough," Ledrell said. "I should have been visiting George Washington at this time, yet I'm staying here. Do you know why?"
"Because of that British woman?" the nobleman said.
"The court is not what it used to be. You would do well to remember that."
With that, Ledrell turned and left.
The nobleman stood there for a while and was just about to leave when Georgiana cast a Full Body-Bind Curse on him. He fell rigidly to the ground.
She emerged from her hiding place and crouched before him. He looked at her in terror.
"Nox, are you free tomorrow?"
Pomona, who was chopping vegetables, looked up at the handsome Sirius Black.
"What for?" she asked listlessly.
"To see a movie," Sirius said.
"You can't leave the house," Pomona said. "Last time, when you went to the station to see Harry off..."
"It's too boring staying home all the time," he complained. "Besides, it's so dark in the cinema that no one will notice."
Pomona hesitated.
"It's about vampires," Sirius said, tempting her as if she were a child. "Want to see it?"
If the girls at school found out she was going on a date with Sirius Black...
Pomona shook her head.
"Why?" Sirius complained in frustration.
"I don't study vampires because I'm fascinated by them," Pomona said. "I've seen the poster for the movie you mentioned."
"Then why..."
Just as Sirius raised his hand, Pomona lifted her wand.
A Doxy, seemingly drawn by the stove
