Pomona waited in front of an oil painting in the fourth-floor corridor.
The musician in the painting was playing a soft, romantic tune, so the wait did not feel dull.
"Nox!" Sirius shouted.
"Shh!" she sternly signaled for him to be quiet.
"Oh, are you afraid of getting caught skipping class?" James mocked.
She was utterly speechless.
A lot of people slept through History class, and Professor Binns never took attendance, so those two had slipped out.
"Where are Remus and Peter?" Pomona asked.
"Remus is resting, Peter is..."
"Let's go," Sirius said impatiently.
"What are you taking me to see?" Pomona asked.
"Should we tell her?" James looked at Sirius.
"The haunted mirror on the fourth floor," Sirius said.
After turning another corner, they arrived before a full-length mirror with an ornate frame.
She looked at herself, Sirius, and James in the mirror and found it all strangely unreal.

It really was rather strange. It often showed scenes from elsewhere instead of what a normal mirror should reflect, which was why it was called the haunted mirror.
"Why didn't you come at night?" Pomona asked.
"We did come at night," Sirius said proudly.
"You went sneaking around at night without me?" Pomona asked.
"I didn't want to hear screaming," James said.
Pomona wanted to punch him twice.
"We found a little mechanism," Sirius said, walking around to the wall behind the mirror. There was a bronze butterfly lamp on it.
"Lumos." Sirius pointed his wand at the butterfly. After about a minute, the butterfly "came alive," fluttered its wings, and left the lamp.
"Look,"
