"What do you think this cave looks like?"
While touring Linderhof Palace, the vampire Giovanni asked.
"Uh... the Underground Opera House." Pomona answered based on what she saw and what the guidebook described.
"And you?" Giovanni asked Severus.
Severus gave a hypocritical smile, as if he cared about the subject.
"Don't you think it looks a lot like Calypso's cave?" Giovanni said in accented English. "The daughter of Atlas, who helped Odysseus on his way home."
"That never occurred to me." Pomona said in surprise.
"The fallen Titans lived in eternal pleasure and happiness, but they were isolated from the world, dwelling in caves, while the Olympian gods led by Zeus controlled humanity's public spaces." Giovanni looked at Pomona and Severus. "Doesn't that sound very much like our situation?"
"I certainly don't feel like I'm enjoying eternal pleasure and happiness." Severus sneered at Giovanni.
Pomona, meanwhile, thought of Hogwarts and the scenery around the Black Lake.
"And you?" Giovanni asked Pomona.
"I don't live in a cave." Pomona said with a smile. "Who else did you say lived in caves?"
"Cyclops Polyphemus, for one. The island he lived on was extremely fertile," Giovanni said. "For humans, that would have been bliss indeed—the sort of thing only found in the Dutch Golden Age."
"I wouldn't call that 'bliss.'" Severus said stiffly. "He ate people."
"Anyway, let's move on to the next place." Giovanni forced a smile and led them out of Venus's Grotto within Linderhof Palace.

There was also The Song of the Nibelungs, which Wagner had used as the basis for The
