"How did it go?"
When Hermione Granger came over from the champions' tent, everyone crowded around to ask her.
"I didn't see the result. Rita Skeeter showed up," Hermione answered gloomily.
Everyone groaned.
"All right, back you go!" Pomona shouted at the students, herding them back into the stands like sheep.
Once the students were seated, Pomona sat down beside Minerva.
"Don't be nervous," Minerva said.
"I'm not nervous!" Pomona immediately replied, craning her neck toward the competitors' entrance.
"How did the draw go?" Minerva remembered to ask.
"Miss Granger didn't see it."
No sooner had Pomona finished speaking than Ludo Bagman's voice rang out.
"The first contestant: Cedric Diggory."
An iron cage beside the dragon's nest opened, and an entirely blue dragon crawled out.
"Thank goodness it isn't a Hungarian Horntail," Minerva said, patting her chest.
But Pomona felt as if she had just heard the worst possible news.
People might think the most dangerous animal in the forest was a tiger, but wild boars were actually more likely to attack humans without provocation.
Hungarian Horntails were exceptionally aggressive. Swedish Short-Snouts tried to minimize contact with humans, while the Welsh Green Dragon's green hide served as camouflage, allowing it to blend into the dense mountain forests. It was the least troublesome of them all.
As for the Chinese Fireball, so long as it was not enraged, it could even tolerate being around its own kind. The Swedish Short-Snout, meanwhile, was fast and highly defensive. Gloves and shields made from its hide were the most sought-after.
It could be considered a type of wind dragon and was a close relative of the blue giant dragon at the Romanian Dragon Reserve. It would cooperate with humans to capture dragons that had escaped.
Cedric's face was pale when he entered the arena.
