Cedric Diggory, holding the Golden Egg, was surrounded like a hero. Gryffindor was clearly even more excited, and they lifted Harry Potter onto their shoulders.
Everyone was delighted. The first task had been thrilling, but they had gotten through it without any real mishap.
Pomona was immensely proud. Whether it was Viktor Krum or Fleur Delacour, they had found ways to make the Dragon "close its eyes." As long as the Dragon could not see or was asleep, they were not breaking the rules by failing to cast an Invisibility Charm on themselves.
"Open that Golden Egg and have a look," someone said to Cedric.
Cedric looked at Pomona first.
The thought of the "Mermaid song" inside the Golden Egg made her frown instinctively.
"Let's wait until I've inspected it," Cedric told everyone. "We need to make sure it's safe."
Everyone was a little disappointed, but no one insisted. They continued escorting Cedric back to the Common Room, where a victory party awaited him.
"Close your eyes." Georgiana had Bonaparte lie down on the study sofa before speaking to him.
He obediently did as she said.
The entire study was dark, lit only by the fire in the fireplace.
She revealed her true form.
Sometimes, she forgot that she was not human, unless her emotions became especially agitated.
