As they continued deeper, the temperature of the surrounding magma rose higher and higher. Once they had descended to a certain depth, Huo Xuan suddenly sensed that something was wrong.

Red figures drifted through the magma. Their bodies were entirely scarlet, the same color as the surrounding lava, making them difficult to spot without close inspection. Red scales covered their bodies, and scarlet tails roughly half a zhang long swayed gently behind them. The red figures stood upright on two legs, though their feet were unusually broad.
