"Thump~ thump~ thump~"

The rumbling sounds coming from the dark cave grew closer, and the tremors on the ground became more and more obvious.

Besides Ailin, the other apprentices were also trembling slightly.

This is the inherent intimidation of large monsters.

Although they had not yet seen the Old Spearhead, the aura of Chaos Magic emanating from the Cyclops had already begun to disrupt the apprentices' nascent Witcher Senses.

"E... Ailin... what should we do now?"

Bont's teeth chattered, and he immediately turned to look at Ailin.

Discovering that he was the only one among them who did not show any unusual behavior, she couldn't help but feel more trust and reliance on him.

Ailin's expression was grave. He gestured for the apprentices to enter the water and then rapidly gave instructions:

"Quick! Drink the Killer Whale Potion and hide in the water..."

He then quickly scanned his surroundings.

At both ends of this cave are protruding, almost vertical mountain cliffs.

Large and small stones are scattered haphazardly at the foot of the mountain.

"Splash!"

Several people entered the water one after another.

After swimming a few meters outwards, Ailin's blue Cat Eyes suddenly lit up.

The mountain walls on both sides, along with the caves, almost form a "W" shape.

The dark cave is deeply embedded in the solid rock. There is a grassy beach in front of the cliff on the left, while the right one plunges directly into the water.

"Quick! Go to the right cliff face, hide and don't move. Then find an opportunity to sneak into the cave and complete the trial."

Upon hearing this, Bont and the others' eyes lit up.

Yes!

They all have Ailin's newly concocted potions, which allow them to hide in the water and look for an opportunity.

Last night, Ailin prepared six bottles of Killer Whale for each of them.

After using four bottles, there are two left.

These two bottles give them enough time to find an opportunity.

"Ailin, aren't you coming along?"

Fred and Bont were excited as they swam toward the cliff. Huus noticed that Ailin hadn't followed, but had turned around as if to swim in the opposite direction, and quickly asked what was wrong.

"Thump~ thump~ thump~"

The heavy footsteps grew closer.

The water surface vibrated, creating ripples.

Ailin didn't have time to explain to Huus and the others, and directly gave the order:

"Don't worry about me, quickly hide and find a chance to get into the cave!"

Then, ignoring Huus's reaction, he quickly swam to the left bank.

If there is no bait, even if they are hidden in the water, will the Old Spearhead, who feeds on water ghosts, really not be able to find them?

Ailin wouldn't be that naive.

As for leaving directly, that's even more impossible.

The Trial of the Mountains are a one-way street with no turning back.

Moreover, the fact that this Old Spearhead had voluntarily emerged from the cave was already the best-case scenario that Ailin had envisioned.

Without the Cat Eye Potion, encountering a starving Cyclops in a dark cave is a true nightmare.

The Killer Lake at the cave entrance was very narrow, and it wasn't long before Ailin walked out of the water and onto the shore.

"Tap~ Tap~ Tap~"

He walked briskly behind the Big Stone he had just chosen.

Ailin looked back at the cliff face on his right. The three apprentices were already in position, with only their heads above the water, looking in his direction.

He raised his hand and pressed down, and after a few seconds of hesitation, the little heads disappeared underwater.

"Thump~ thump~ thump~"

Even though they were more than a hundred meters away from the cave, the keen Witcher Senses could still feel the ground trembling.

"This isn't normal!" Ailin thought to himself.

Even with a heavy weight, the propagation of vibrations will be reduced.

However, the tremors on the ground seemed to be only slightly less intense than those at the cave entrance.

"Old Spearhead might be a monster favored by the Earth Element."

The Witcher apprentice became more vigilant.

Magical energy circulates within the body.

Igni Sign.

The rising heat quickly dries the clothes, preventing them from getting wet and hindering movement.

"Thump~ thump~ thump~"

Ailin listened carefully to the vibrations and predicted that the Old Spearhead would emerge from the cave in less than a minute, so he slightly opened his mouth.

"Croak~ Croak~ Croak croak..."

The low, rhythmic screams sounded like a ritual, or perhaps a curse.

Even under the sunlight, a bright blue light, still conspicuous, quickly gathered from the void onto Ailin.

These points of light breathed rhythmically.

This is the Ice Lance Spell.

For various reasons, this was also the first time Ailin had cast this spell.

He could sense that although most of the blue magic came from the magic storage organ next to his heart, a very small portion still came from the outside world.

The ability to convert external magic is something only sorcerers can do.

Is it because water is compatible?

The strange incantations continued, and the witcher pondered them in his mind.

"Buzz~"

A blue dot suddenly appeared in the palm of Ailin's outstretched right hand.

It quickly grew into an Ice Spike as thick as a thumb.

"The mystical attribute is still too weak!" The Witcher apprentice glanced at the short "ice spear" that had already taken shape and sighed.

"Thump~ thump~ thump~"

The ground tremors became increasingly noticeable.

A few seconds later, a huge figure appeared, almost completely naked except for a gray animal hide around its waist.

Bending over, they emerged from the dark cave.

"Call out!"

The blue light flashed by in an instant.

The Cyclops had barely straightened up when one of his ears was instantly pierced.

"Roar!"

After a few seconds of stunned silence, the Old Spearhead suddenly roared.

He covered his ear with one hand and stared wide-eyed around, searching for anything.

The Witcher apprentice knew his guess was right the moment he saw that bloodshot, murky single eye.

Old Spearhead must have been starving for days.

"Damn it, it's still too far!"

Ailin's real target was Old Spearhead's one-eyed eye.

Of course, this is only the most ideal situation.

If it weren't for the Ice Spear Technique's inherent mental guidance ability, the Witcher apprentice probably wouldn't even have gotten close to the ear.

However, judging from the Cyclops's furious and enraged appearance, it at least served its purpose of attracting hatred.

"Caw caw caw caw caw..."

A moment later, the blue ice spear reappeared from Ailin's right palm.

Each use of Ice Spear Technique consumes at least 50 mana points. With a Witcher Apprentice's total mana of 230, it can be used four times.

"Call out!"

The ice spear struck the Cyclops squarely in the forehead, just a hand's breadth away from his eye.

Unfortunately, while the ice spear could pierce through flesh and blood, it clearly couldn't penetrate the bone of the Old Spearhead.

"Roar!"

The Cyclops roared again.

This time, however, he found his target.

A single eye, the size of a human head, stared intently at the annoying little guy not far away.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

He swung his thick, strong arms, ran three steps, and uprooted a passing oak tree.

Without stopping, he gripped the tree trunk horizontally with his right hand and forcefully pulled it down with his thick left hand.

"Snap—"

All the branches on the oak tree snapped off instantly, fell to the ground, and were crushed by Old Spearhead's foot the next moment.

The aura of Chaos Magic, once the Old Spearhead confirmed its target, quickly swept over Ailin.

He suddenly felt his body sink, as if his entire body had become several times heavier in an instant.

The Cyclops rapidly magnified in his pupils.

The enormous legs, longer than the entire body of a Witcher apprentice, ran faster and faster, getting closer and closer.

In a daze, it felt as if the entire Blue Mountain was rushing towards him.

Unrivaled! Unstoppable!
