"I'm fine, Severus," Voldemort said casually, his attention still on the books.
He looked at the closed books in the Magical Tuning series, and another urge to flip them open welled up in his heart.
To restrain that impulse, he flicked his fingers at the books. They floated up in the direction of his gesture, flew to the corner of the desk, and stacked themselves neatly.
Snape glanced at the neatly arranged Magical Tuning series and asked respectfully, "My master, may I ask whether you're satisfied with them?"
Voldemort pressed his lips together. As he considered how to answer, Barty Crouch Jr. cut in again at a most inappropriate moment.
"Snape, why have you asked such a foolish question again?" Barty Crouch Jr.'s voice was full of contempt. "Didn't you see what the master did?"
"He didn't even want to look at them a few more times before throwing them into the corner." He looked at the first book in the stack. "Magical Tuning: Introduction to Transfiguration?"
"If I'm not mistaken, the contents of this book are probably only related to A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, aren't they? How could something like that possibly catch the master's eye?"
Nagini tensed again, her head suspended in midair as she assumed a guarded posture.
Voldemort looked at the Wand lying on the desk. The sheen it gave off was as cold as his gaze.
His fingers twitched slightly, and the impulse surging in his heart gave rise to a thought—how about giving Barty Crouch Jr. a Killing Curse?
But from another perspective, Barty Crouch Jr. had actually given him a way out.
He turned his head slightly, trying not to look at the stack of Magical Tuning books in the corner of the desk.
"Severus, is this all?" he asked, scrutinizing Snape.
