Harry and the other two left their luggage at the Leaky Cauldron, then went to the Small Courtyard behind it and tapped the bricks in the proper order.
They stepped into Diagon Alley. Looking at the long line that already stretched all the way to Quality Quidditch Supplies, Ron could not help exclaiming, "Merlin's flowery underpants! The line's still so long!"
Compared with Ron's surprise, Hermione looked utterly hopeless. "It's reached Quality Quidditch Supplies again... I won't be able to buy those books before we go to France!"
Ron's eyes widened. "No—more than a week's already passed. How are there still this many people lining up?"
Although the chances of buying the Magical Harmony series were already very slim, Hermione still clung to her last shred of hope and went to the very end of the line.
As her friends, Harry and Ron joined the queue too. Harry adjusted his glasses. "Maybe because... Vizet is really famous?"
Ron's expression eased, and he nodded. "That does make sense!"
He counted on his fingers as he spoke. "He led the team to win the Quidditch World Cup, stopped those prisoners from breaking out, and now he's written books too..."
"If I didn't feel too embarrassed, I'd go straight to Vizet and ask him to give me a few signed copies of Magical Harmony, and then..."
"Excuse me, do you really know Mr. Lovegood? Are you classmates? Can you really get him to sign something?" The speaker was a girl with a distinct American accent.
While Harry and the other two had been chatting, someone else had lined up behind them and asked three questions in a row.
Ron looked at the tall girl and shook his head repeatedly. "No... no..."
