The Peeping Mirror looked like a top made of glass.
Once someone held a Peeping Mirror, it would spin and glow the moment anything suspicious appeared nearby.
The Peeping Mirror lying quietly in Paul Smith's palm at that moment showed no reaction at all. Under normal circumstances, that meant one thing: that Dark Wizard had not lied.
Beside him, Vizet offered his own guess. "Mr. Smith, could it be interference from some kind of Magic Contract that made the Peeping Mirror stop working?"
"That's what I thought too!" Paul Smith nodded. "Now we can only see... just how powerful this Magic Contract really is!"
He waved his Wand and began a new round of spellcasting. As he cast, he also combined it with the clues Vizet had now provided, questioning the man repeatedly from different angles.
After all that trouble, the Dark Wizard still revealed no clues, which made Paul Smith's expression turn very ugly.
However, the Muggles and Dark Wizards involved in this attack had all already been subdued by Vizet, so he could question the others and try to find a breakthrough there.
After he questioned several more Dark Wizards and still failed to obtain any clues, he could only clench his Wand with an unwilling look on his face.
Jimmy and Brian were in the same situation. They had questioned those Muggles and likewise obtained no clues.
Brian's expression was terrible. "If we could use Legilimency, maybe we could get something out of them!"
Jimmy's tone was also full of regret. "Yeah! If we had Veritaserum, maybe we could pry their mouths open too!"
"If we don't get some key information out of them now... by the time we find the mastermind behind this, they'll have vanished without a trace!"
Brian and Jimmy were both Hit Wizards.
