Snape's voice was still echoing through the office when Colin Creevey and Dennis Creevey had already buried their heads, their chins almost pressed to their chests, and looked back at the frogs in the wooden barrel.
It was not just Colin Creevey and Dennis Creevey. When the other Gryffindor students heard Snape's words, they shrank their heads back like startled rabbits and continued wrestling with the lively, jumping frogs.
These Gryffindor students grabbed the frogs, pressed their lips together as they pinned them to the wooden boards, and the small knives in their hands shook nonstop.
With pained expressions, they cut open the frogs' heads, then used spoons to scoop out the brain pulp inside.
Some Gryffindor students' hands trembled so badly that at least half of the Frog Brain Pulp they scooped out ended up smeared across the frogs' faces.
Vizet blinked and looked toward the dejected Gryffindor students before his gaze finally settled on Snape's face. "Professor Snape, what are they..."
The Gryffindor students who were scooping out Frog Brain Pulp all pricked up their ears at that moment. They held their breath, wanting to hear how Snape would answer.
At least as far as they were concerned, Snape would probably shut Vizet up with a line like, "None of your business, Lovegood."
Or, if things were even worse, Snape would point to the corner and say to Vizet, "What kind of stupid question is that? You, over there! Scoop out a barrel of Frog Brain Pulp first and clear your head!"
Yet to these Gryffindor students' surprise, Snape actually began explaining.
"Heh!" Snape sneered and cast a cold glance at the Gryffindor students.
He stood up and paced behind one of the Gryffindor students, frightening the student so badly that the knife in his hand slipped sideways
