The meridians covering Carcas's face withdrew. At that moment, his appearance had changed greatly; both his wrinkles and white hair had increased by a great deal, as if he had declined from a young man into someone middle-aged or elderly.
Noticing that Carcas was no longer using the Heavenly Eye, Herpo asked, somewhat surprised, "It's over just like that?"
"Yes!" Carcas said with a weary nod. "That Guardian left the Headmaster's Office, and that Dumbledore put all the Deathly Hallows back into the cabinet."
"It was all meaningless content..." As the memory continued, his tone grew strange. "Nothing more than a 'friend from afar,' a 'mirror,' and a 'Christmas gift'..."
"They didn't say who that so-called 'friend from afar' actually was. I can't determine who sent the Christmas gift. At most, they referred to the gift-giver as 'that person.'"
"They must have been plotting something!" Voldemort reached his own conclusion, his tone full of disdain. "I know Dumbledore too well! He likes nothing more than pulling shady little tricks!"
"It doesn't really matter who this so-called 'that person' is! At most, they're just a coward hiding in the shadows, unwilling even to have their name mentioned!"
Herpo pressed his lips together and furrowed his brows, trying hard to look deep in thought rather than as if he had remembered something amusing.
When the Isaiah Society suffered a setback and he chose Voldemort as a partner, he had thoroughly learned quite a lot about Voldemort.
Among England's Wizards, Voldemort had titles such as "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" and "the one whose name must not be spoken."
Voldemort seemed to enjoy others calling him that. If one looked at it from that angle... this so-called "coward unwilling even to have their name mentioned" sounded more like Voldemort was cursing himself.
"It only mentioned a mirror?"
