By noon, Vizet had finally said goodbye to Hagrid and left the hut.
Before he left, Hagrid took advantage of his larger build and stuffed quite a few materials into Vizet's pockets.
Besides the Unicorn tail hair, there were also many materials Vizet had not had time to identify.
Vizet felt lightheaded. His current condition should be perfect for the afternoon's Flight lesson.
The weekend is almost here, and there are so many materials... I can study how to make a Wand! Healing magic, the Animagus Professor McGonagall mentioned... I need to learn about all of them.
There were two more lessons that afternoon: Herbology lesson taught by Professor Sprout, and the Flying lesson he had yet to experience.
Herbology lesson took place in the Greenhouse, and first-years were not exposed to very many herbs.
Before the school year had even begun, Vizet had already learned quite a bit of relevant knowledge from Luna.
Whether it was digging, fertilizing, or tending the plants, he handled everything with ease and even earned extra points from Sprout.
Without being bothered in the slightest by the dirt on him, Vizet packed up his books and planned to head straight to the lawn, where they would gather for the Flying lesson.
Chris hurriedly grabbed him. "Vizet, aren't you going back to wash up? Wouldn't it be bad to go there like this?"
The Slytherins had Herbology lesson with them. A stocky, dark-haired female student suddenly spoke up. "That's right! A filthy Obscurial can't be washed clean, no matter how much he scrubs!"
Her tone was contemptuous. She folded her arms and raised her head, displaying her thick chin.
"Is that so? I thought that as a Wizard, I could use a more magical method..." Vizet smiled faintly, drew his Wand, and traced a beautiful "S" through the air. "Scourgify!"
In the blink of an eye, all the dirt on him vanished, and his clothes returned to their pristine state.
He continued casting, conveniently cleaning the dirt from his dormmate as well.
He even spread out his hand and asked in a calm tone, "Would you like me to clean you, too? Or perhaps you can do it yourself? Please!"
The female student's face flushed the color of liver. "You..."
Seeing Vizet's courteous gesture leave the girl speechless, his dormmates burst into laughter.
"Millicent, we should go!" a thin-lipped girl cut in, walking straight past Vizet.
"Pansy, I was helping you..."
"Miss Parkinson! Please address me by my surname. It will make you appear better-mannered!" Pansy shouted sharply, leaving the Greenhouse without looking back.
Millicent's expression grew even uglier, and tears could even be seen glimmering at the corners of her eyes.
She could not say another word. Covering her face, she ran off as fast as she could.
"What was that all about?" Terry asked curiously. "I wanted to ask you before—why are they so hostile toward you?"
"Because he has the identity of an Obscurial," Anthony said with a frown. "Obscurials are created by fear and rejection of magic, and those traits generally belong to Muggles."
"Slytherin believes in Pure-blood ideology and even looks down on Muggle-born Wizards. I'm not surprised this happened at all."
"It's a shame they don't know Vizet's magic!" Michael draped an arm over Vizet's shoulder. "How can you be friends with Cho Chang and know magic we don't? I'm so jealous!"
"I learned this magic from Cho Chang," Vizet explained. "The Scouring Charm. It's a very useful piece of Life Magic. Do you want to learn it? I can lend you my notes."
"We'll talk about it after we get back!" Michael waved his hands repeatedly. "The Flying Broomsticks might already be laid out. Let's go choose a good-looking one first!"
Since ancient times, people had been filled with longing for and curiosity about the sky.
It was precisely because of this longing that all kinds of flying machines had appeared.
Wizards shared the same longing, so they invented Flying Broomsticks, and even created a Wizard sport because of them—Quidditch.
Madam Hooch was the professor for Flying lesson. She was also a Quidditch Referee, and Hogwarts Quidditch matches were officiated by her.
She had arrived early and arranged the Flying Broomsticks in two rows on the ground.
"It looks kind of like an Eagle's eye!" Terry came over and muttered under his breath.
Madam Hooch had kept her gray hair cut short and neatly. Her eyes were a distinctive bright yellow, indeed resembling an Eagle's eyes.
Her eyesight was just as sharp as an Eagle's, and when she saw Michael pick up a broomstick, she pounced over instantly.
"Please put the broomstick back on the ground first! Even if you know how to use a Flying Broomstick, please wait until class begins and pick it up according to my instructions."
"Gasp!" Michael dropped the Flying Broomstick back onto the ground as if he had been electrocuted. "Sorry, Madam Hooch!"
"Ahem..." Madam Hooch coughed lightly, looking a little embarrassed. "I should apologize... I was a bit too sensitive."
"Yesterday afternoon, I taught the Flying lesson to two other houses. One of the children had an accident, so I have to be extra careful!"
Michael and the others gathered around and asked in confusion, "Who was it?"
"It was Neville, Neville Longbottom from Gryffindor." Hanna's voice rang out. "He broke his wrist when he fell. It must have hurt quite a bit."
More and more Hufflepuffs gathered around. They knew plenty of school gossip and eagerly began sharing it.
"Draco Malfoy seemed to take something from Neville Longbottom... Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy got into a confrontation... Harry Potter became a Seeker..."
Michael and the others were even more confused. "What does that have to do with anything? How did he become a Seeker? Quidditch tryouts don't start until this weekend!"
As the bell rang, Madam Hooch clapped her hands and called loudly, "Since everyone is here, let's begin today's lesson."
"First, stand beside a Flying Broomstick. Remember! Do not touch it with your hands! Then wait for my next instruction!"
The students followed her instructions with helpless amusement. They all felt that Madam Hooch was a little too nervous.
"Good! Extend the hand closest to the Flying Broomstick, and don't move yet... Wait for my next instruction!"
After the students obediently complied, Madam Hooch continued, "Call out 'up,' and when the Flying Broomstick flies into your palm, grab it! Then stop!"
"Wait for your next instruction," the students said helplessly.
"Yes! Exactly!" Madam Hooch nodded. "We have to take it one step at a time to prevent accidents."
After a series of cries of "Up," not everyone managed to grasp a Flying Broomstick.
The Hufflepuff students' Flying Broomsticks, for instance, would roll across the ground twice before slowly flying into their hands.
Hanna's Flying Broomstick seemed to be broken. It did not react at all, leaving her face flushed with anxiety.
Perhaps because they lived in a higher place, the Ravenclaws performed much better. After calling a few more times, their Flying Broomsticks responded to their voices.
Vizet's Flying Broomstick was extremely obedient. He had not even called out yet—he had only formed the thought—and it shot straight into his hand.
