The first round of selection began. Just as Vizet had predicted, this stage was quite easy.
Whether it was hovering, weaving, or even flying upside down, he handled every kind of flying maneuver with ease.
When he returned to the ground, Arsenal said with a smile, "This is the first time I've seen a New Student fly a Shooting Star so well!"
"This is Ravenclaw's most promising year yet!" he said, both excited and exhilarated. "Have you thought about which position you want to play?"
Vizet suddenly remembered the new ability he had acquired in the library. Perhaps there was a position that suited him perfectly. "Could I be a Chaser?"
"No problem!" Arsenal said with a laugh. "We'll make sure you become a Chaser no matter what!"
As the team captain, Arsenal naturally longed to win the championship.
Unfortunately, the team had suffered a serious loss of talent over the years, leaving Ravenclaw with lackluster results and a constant place in fourth.
There were only four teams in the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup. Compared with coming in last, fourth place merely sounded more pleasant.
Ravenclaw prided itself on taking the colors of the sky and the Eagle, yet its Quidditch team had always ranked at the bottom. It was honestly difficult to justify.
Vizet's appearance gave Arsenal, who was about to graduate, hope of winning the championship.
Filled with excitement, Arsenal found Roger. "Have you found a suitable Chaser?"
"Jeremy Stretton." Roger pulled over a third-year student. "His reactions and accuracy are both decent. He'll have no problem playing after some training!"
"But we need two Chasers, and there's no one more suitable at the moment. We can only go through the selection list again and at least put together a complete team."
"Then come meet Vizet!" Arsenal unconsciously raised his voice. "The genius recommended by Professor Flitwick! His flying technique is flawless!"
"Really?" Roger was somewhat surprised. "Vizet... I have a vague impression. He's a New Student, right?"
Arsenal was as excited as if he had won the jackpot. "I've already taken him through the first round of selection. He even managed to fly upside down and dive at the same time. Whether it was his balance or his speed, he was flawless!"
Roger's eyes lit up. "Then I'll add his name to the list right away!"
Arsenal nodded. "Bring both the Quaffle and the Bludgers. Let everyone get familiar with each other and have a brief training session."
Riding the team's Flying Broomsticks, Vizet followed everyone into the air.
Arsenal came to the goalposts. "Jeremy and Duncan, you'll be responsible for taking the Quaffle from Vizet."
"Cho, you and Jansen will be one group. Jansen, go with Roger and hit the Bludgers. Vizet is the target."
Cho Chang frowned slightly and raised her hand. "May I ask... why is Vizet the target for everything?"
"Of course, it's because I have confidence in him," Arsenal said with a smile. "We'll be developing our tactics around him in the future. If everyone understands him clearly now, we won't need to explain much when formal training begins next week."
"The Bludger is an important threat on the pitch. This training session is also a test for all of you and will expose your weaknesses. Based on this session, I'll assign your training tasks."
Once everyone was ready, they immediately scattered.
They centered themselves around Vizet, keeping more than ten meters between one another.
Roger opened the box containing the Bludgers. The two Bludgers shot out like cannonballs, howling as they traced arcs through the air and began attacking the players on the field.
Arsenal tossed out the Quaffle. "Vizet! Catch!"
Vizet, hovering in the launching area, caught the Quaffle and shot forward like an arrow.
Roger moved rapidly through the air, successfully intercepting one Bludger before swinging his bat and sending it flying with all his strength.
The Bludger let out a thunderous boom as it tore through the air, leaving behind a black arc. In the blink of an eye, it reached Vizet. The distance between them was no more than two meters.
Seeing this, Cho Chang gripped her Flying Broomstick nervously.
The newly recruited players all reacted similarly. They had not expected Roger to be serious, much less to show them any mercy.
"Was that a little too harsh...?" Roger muttered before continuing to search for the other Bludger.
Professor Flitwick, seated in the stands, tightened his grip on his wand. The moment Vizet fell from his Flying Broomstick, he would immediately intervene.
Professor McGonagall, sitting beside him, adjusted her glasses, but her fingers remained clamped around the frame. Her eyes stayed fixed on Vizet high above.
Wood narrowed his eyes and subconsciously clenched both fists. "That distance is so short! An ordinary person wouldn't have time to react, would they? Roger's clearly a Chaser, yet he hit that Bludger so viciously!"
Arsenal held his breath, staring unblinkingly at the Bludger.
Hearing the Bludger's howl, Vizet had already prepared himself mentally.
When he saw the Bludger appear in front of him, he did not panic in the slightest. Instead, he felt an unusual thrill that urged him to accelerate even further.
The Flying Broomstick used in matches was extremely effective. Whether in acceleration or stability, it far surpassed the Shooting Star.
He had no intention of slowing down. He bent forward, clamped the Quaffle beneath his arm, and pressed his chest against the handle, narrowly avoiding the Bludger.
Vizet's speed was astonishing. He swept through the sky like a swift, leaving behind a fading afterimage.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he went from extreme motion to complete stillness and appeared in front of Arsenal, again less than three meters away.
Ancient Magic: Throwing Mastery.
He hurled the Quaffle with all his strength. Empowered by Ancient Magic Power, the Quaffle let out a faint whistle.
Arsenal instinctively tried to catch it, but the Quaffle left behind a bright-red afterimage and flew straight through the hoop.
Less than thirty seconds had passed since the ball was thrown, yet Vizet had already scored. Most of the people present had not expected this.
Cho Chang smiled brightly and shouted, "Vizet scores ten points!"
"Professor McGonagall, I don't even know how to thank you!" Professor Flitwick's face split into a beaming smile. "I'll definitely help you take the Trophy away from Professor Snape!"
"It's too early to say that. Our Potter isn't bad either." Professor McGonagall forced a smile. "You'll know when the match begins... Anyway, as long as we can take the Trophy, that's all that matters!"
Wood stared at the handwritten board, unsure what he should write.
When speed became so fast that it was difficult to imagine, creating tactics required breaking through the limits of imagination.
In the end, he wrote the following with a bitter smile: Fortunately, Vizet isn't a Seeker. Otherwise, it would be impossible to imagine how quickly he could end a match.
Roger flew to the goalposts and complained with a grin, "Arsenal, don't hold back! I was trying so hard, so why didn't you resist at all?"
"That distance is really too short to react to!" Arsenal said with a bitter smile. "Let's go for another five minutes! And you all need to put in more effort. Don't make Roger do all the work alone!"
The training session had almost turned into Vizet's personal show.
Although they had not managed to learn the other players' weaknesses, just as Arsenal had said, they had all gained confidence in Vizet.
If all else failed, then once thirty seconds had passed after the match began, they could simply choose to trust Vizet.
